Are most Cambodians hypochondriacs?
I don't know if my girlfriend is sick. She doesn't look sick. Every few weeks she mentions some symptom that she immediately wants to go see a doctor about. Upset stomach, fever, her foot hurts, rapid heart rate, and such. How do I know if she's really sick?

Well, you could pay for a full battery of blood work, piss and crap sampling and sputum testing and get the results interpreted by a real doctor.
Or not.
But you'd certainly know if she is sick or not.

I'd be very suspicious. Have you been able to ascertain her relationship with the 'doctor' or clinic she goes to?The Suk Straggler wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 6:02 pm I don't know if my girlfriend is sick. Could be she is trying to put a few of your bucks in a friend's pocket.
Otherwise, I'd suggest evaluating what she does to be healthy. Is her diet poor? No exercise? Not enough sleep?

That sounds expensive. I would do it if I thought she was sick. I'm worried if I take her to the doctor every time she wants to go to a doctor I will be broke.

Yeah, I live with a girl here also who frequently complains about varied small malaises.
It's been a decade and she isn't dead yet, so go figure.

There are people who cannot imagine that there are other ways of life than their own life.

Yeah OP I think you're onto something there re khmer affliction for this..
Mrs Cargo makes a huge deal out of any minor ailment she has. And more, when I get sick with something basic like a cold or something she's always trying to rush me off to the doctor. Gotta luv that tho..

My wife is the exact opposite. She's not interested in the doctor unless a concrete block gets dropped on her head (which happened just recently) and then she'll go.
But then again, my wife isn't Khmer.

My lady who stode by me when I couldn't piss. Had become sick after my return. I took her to a doctor whom totally misdiagnosed her condition. The Suk Straggler wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 6:20 pmJerry Atrick wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 6:09 pm Well, you could pay for a full battery of blood work, piss and crap sampling and sputum testing and get the results interpreted by a real doctor.

Then seeking a little more help we managed to get her seen by a certified doctor whom studied and qualified overseas.
The full tests your talking about cost me $100. I won't go into detail but it wasn't good news. Resulting that she would be lucky to see the year out.
I could give it a try on recommendation for her to go to Singapore for a major operation at the cost of $100,000+ with slim to little chance.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

She’s either got worms or is anemic.
