If the OP is asking about how to avoid binge drinking, he already has a problem, by his own admission.cptrelentless wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2017 4:36 pm Don't let people who have a problem with booze tell you that you have a problem, misery loves company.
Telling a really heavy drinker/ binge drinker seeking advice he has no problem is just irresponsible.
I don't think you'd find a single decent psychologist/ alcoholic counsellor who'd agree with your advice.
Jesus loves you...Mexico is great, right?

Re: Any tips on avoiding binge drinking???
As long termer here in KoW one thing that ruins a lot of barangs is consuming huge amounts of rancid cheap local beer and not eating enough vital nutrients .
lets be honest , Khmer food is crap and not appetizing to westerners especially on a 35 degree morning after a 3 day bender I don't care what ya say.....
these two factors contributing (not eating properly if at all, going on benders on cheap crappy beer, dehydration) cause DTs and exhaustion.

Samudera stocks Tang (525g pkts $4) - same stuff as Royal D but cheaper. I drink litres of the stuff every day.
Listening to you lot tells me I am a lightweight drinker. Had 4 draft with ice yesterday arvo and 4 cans (3 winning ringpulls ) and fish n chips in the evening. Still feel pretty bad today although that may be something to do with the Beef Curry I heated up when I got home.

Re: Any tips on avoiding binge drinking???
When i worked on building sites we always went for a lunchtime drink on friday payday, usually just the one. Every now and then we would all look at each other and agree that we had just drunk the "magic" pint, that second or third pint that meant that was it for the day. Not only would we lose the afternoons wages but would spend the mornings wages and sometimes lose the job as well. oh well so it goes.

this is a Vitamin boosting drink, like the other drinks i posted pictures of above
Royal D is an Electrolyte boosting drink
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrolyte#RehydrationIn oral rehydration therapy, electrolyte drinks containing sodium and potassium salts replenish the body's water and electrolyte concentrations after dehydration caused by exercise, excessive alcohol consumption, diaphoresis (heavy sweating), diarrhea, vomiting, intoxication or starvation. Athletes exercising in extreme conditions (for three or more hours continuously, e.g. a marathon or triathlon) who do not consume electrolytes risk dehydration (or hyponatremia)

on Fridays we would finish off bits in the morning,
down the Cafe for a big Brekki at break,
go back do some stacking out and snagging,
then pub for lunch,
all we used to do after the pub was go back and wrap the tools up and fuck off haha

Re: Any tips on avoiding binge drinking???
it all depended on the subby, some would sack you if you got back half hour late, others would expect you to do very little on friday afternoon. When work was plentifull we would take the piss. One thing common in the 70s and 80s was saturdays, work till 12 and get a days money. And then of course was it day work or price work?. Those days are gone now
