Surely such a commitment would warrant a trip there yourself to check the place out? To plan on spending 2 months a year
in a country you have never visited and rely on the advice of forum members? seems bizarre to me.

Anywhere in Cambodia you'll find to spend a month or two depending on what your looking for and not just in the 4 main towns

Huan xin means "you are a cheating piece of shit!" All handy phrases for the adventure tourist, to get the adrenaline pumping.
Dont bother unpacking in readiness for your tactical retreat to the other end of the country, Siem Sleep where you can ride your bike, all you like. There are also islands and less popular towns to visit on your way to Siem Reap like Koh Kong which is not an island (Koh is island), although there is a Koh Kong island and both Koh Kongs are in Koh Kong. Battambang is another city, 2nd biggest? That's about all I know on that one, except that where the backpackers go to Kampot, those at the other end of life's cycle, go to the "Bang". Next trip you will know where to hang.

in the hot season, go to Kampot... Take a ride up Bokor mountain and the temps drop 20-30 degrees as you approach the top. Also nice cool mist to drive through.....

I hear no Motos are not allowed entry to Bokor, seems it is okay by car but not moto.
