ANTS EVERYWHERE! I need Boric Acid - anywhere in central PP?

Post by SlackWaster »

Hello all

Absolutely infested with ants. My work surface was moving when I woke up this morning and they are coming in from all angles. I hear Boric Acid is the one to use since the ants take it 'home' and destroy the entire nest.

I used the search and apparently it can be bought at the Cambodian Superstore - but I am currently without motor. Does anyone know where I can get some more centrally? BKK1 or riverside areas?

Also - does anyone have tips about using? Some say mix with sugar? Any help really appreciated, I'm happy to deal with some tropical issues, but they're frigging everywhere!

Thanks in advance.

Super Duper stocked it in the past, not sure if they still have it.

Thank you for your assistance. I managed to find 100% Boric Acid in the Smile Mart on the corner of 136/13 - not quite sure what to do - I've mixed some with some honey, and some with some tuna, but the ants who are in their usual marching formations don't seem to be going near it yet. I'll continue to do research but if anyone's got any mixing tips?

Thanks for the tip with the baking soda - I already have some of that and it seems a lot less dangerous than Boric Acid - but I'll go check the link now.

Thank you - really appreciated, this is really getting out of hand now.

I seem to recall some success with mixing with peanut butter.

I'm having a similar problem but on a small scale. Did the baking soda work or the boric acid?

Let us know you are ok, you last message sounded like a mayday call :D

One thing I noticed when putting down ant treatment is that it seems to take half a day or more before the ants stumble across their armageddon, even if the stuff is right on their trail. I guess they are distracted by their primary haul. FYI: I was not using boric acid but a Japanese product, which I bought in Thailand.

We’ve periodically had any issues. Not quite at MayDay levels, but sufficient to spoil one’s midnight snack.

The primary cause leading to the invasion was children, and the local tendency to leave food in totally random places.

Is it a devilish plan by your new neighbour?
