another you might notice, mainly from PhuketRichard, is he sometimes types "555555"
5 in Thai is pronounced "Ha"...
so Thais type "555" instead of typing "Ha ha ha"
and if you see "555++" that is the same as "LOL/Laugh Out Loud"

its the same as when Khmer type "70" instead of "Chet"

is written

BUT you would never see a prescript in a letter when you will find ps; used

Chinese post 555+ because 5 is pronounced "wu" and means the opposite of LOL.

Interesting, thanks for sharing, what would you describe as the opposite of LOL? would that be Crying? so 555+ would have a sad/upset meaning?

Interesting, thanks for sharing, what would you describe as the opposite of LOL? would that be Crying? so 555+ would have a sad/upset meaning?

Yeah, crying. They always seem to use 5 and not 五 as well. (五is 5 in Chinese )
