theres nothing to argue...Samouth wrote:Jamie, you should not argue with the king of English literature> . I will have to ask him to explain me what is Yank or Yankee.Jamie_Lambo wrote:there is a Prescript...prahkeitouj wrote:phuketrichard wrote:no; POST script ONLY
there is no prescript ( before the letter??)
it is something written down Before hand... Something that is Pre Written... usually a Rule or a Law...
it comes from the latin "praescriptio" > Preface, Introduction, Pretext, Pretense, Precept, Order, Rule, Law

Re: abbreviation in English
another you might notice, mainly from PhuketRichard, is he sometimes types "555555"
5 in Thai is pronounced "Ha"...
so Thais type "555" instead of typing "Ha ha ha"
and if you see "555++" that is the same as "LOL/Laugh Out Loud"
its the same as when Khmer type "70" instead of "Chet"

a prescript would be something written BEFORE the script (the written form of a play or movie or the lines to be said by a performer)
is written
BUT you would never see a prescript in a letter when you will find ps; used
also PPS Post postscript

Interesting, thanks for sharing, what would you describe as the opposite of LOL? would that be Crying? so 555+ would have a sad/upset meaning?qinjingyou wrote:I'm glad you posted, cause I was gonna ask.Jamie_Lambo wrote:another you might notice, mainly from PhuketRichard, is he sometimes types "555555"
