Do you need 18,000 $ ?
Just be aware you could get that sum for nothing else than a few sentences to justify it to the right crew.
Also, some people buy litterally nothing whith that money you would use (probably) in a more useful fashion.

It's like the guy who sold his shit in tin-cans. Zero budget, but jackpot.
Can't wait to see the next contemporary art fair in PP with all the new worn-out expats artist crew trying to sell pieces of wind in an empty room, some price tags here and there, nervously awaiting the next meth head millionnaire willing to spend big on a such advanced concept.

Art is always in the eye of the beholder. The price is what the beholder is willing to pay.
That’s why I (used to) have art that I enjoyed looking at.
Now I have a sparkly woven image of Buddha that missus makes offerings to many times a month. There’s even a calendar next to him to make sure she doesn’t miss a day.
Her happiness in having Buddha watch us everyday?
Priceless.

Artist's Shit
In May 1961 Manzoni created 90 small cans, sealed with the text Artist's Shit (Merda d'Artista). Each 30-gram can was priced by weight based on the current value of gold (around $1.12 a gram in 1960).[14] The contents of the cans remain a much-disputed enigma, since opening them would destroy the value of the artwork. Various theories about the contents have been proposed, including speculation that it is plaster.[15] In the following years, the cans have spread to various art collections all over the world and netted large prices, far outstripping inflation. A tin was sold for € 124,000 at Sotheby's on May 23, 2007; in October 2008 tin 83 was offered for sale at Sotheby's with an estimate of £ 50–70,000. It sold for £97,250.[16]
As long as you have a suit, you can sell any shit
And yes, the value is in the eye of the beholder, so í'd like to see the re-sell value of an 18000$ nothing, oh if i could be a fly on ze wall and listen to the sales pitch..."it WILL look nice in your house !" "and now let do coke" i guess....i wonder...
At least it's not ugly to watch, i give you that

That doesn't actually happen here though, you need to hit London or Paris or NYC or wherever it is that decides what is good or not. We have no say. Like this Italian artist just sold an invisible sculpture.Ghostwriter wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 12:16 am Can't wait to see the next contemporary art fair in PP with all the new worn-out expats artist crew trying to sell pieces of wind in an empty room, some price tags here and there, nervously awaiting the next meth head millionnaire willing to spend big on a such advanced concept.

Yeah, good luck with selling any art other than carved wooden panels and statues here, and paintings of temples and pastoral scenes. They aren't quite ready for pickled sheep yet.

Haha i love the way this thread had been moved from "the rest of the world"to "Asinine" while getting a 100 views in less than an hour. Good clickbait, and yeah many people need 18,000$ or less, unfortunately.
Well, any better idea to make a quick buck without sweating it, nor being an outlaw, or being morally wrong, in this valley of tears ?
Oh yeah, credentials.
Even beggars need credentials nowadays in this shitworld.
Forget it, lads.

Many people make less than that, and many make more. None are likely to be able to market a can of fecal matter. That takes artistry.Ghostwriter wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 1:35 am Haha i love the way this thread had been moved from "the rest of the world"to "Asinine" while getting a 100 views in less than an hour. Possibly, but i suspect it's more the point to be the first at it. Crumbles for the second.John Bingham wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 2:21 am None are likely to be able to market a can of fecal matter. That takes artistry.
Somehow, it's the opposite way for usual business where the first mouse get crushed, and the second mouse get the cheese, in many cases...
Art, but no art (but a certificate of authenticity with it though, go figure). I'd like to read the logistic contract about packing, loading, and insurance if it get damaged...
It's beautiful, in a way....
