Hard to say what would be an appropriate sentence - 1 "life" (sentence) for each death ?
Karadzic is 70, so he will stay in jail until the end of his life - that's just, I'd say. What's the point of sentencing people to 1000 years when you know very well that they will cheat the system by dying?
Even if you support the death penalty, he can only die once, so why would a quick death be preferable to living the rest of his years in prison and dying there ?
There is also the possibility that a big sentence would give him a martyr status that he doesn't deserve. Let him rot.

It is a precedent that can be used in a court of law at a later date! So if you committed the crime at the age of 18? Or if you would take 1 life what is it's value?

So when are Kissinger, Cheney, Clinton, every living US president and the Saudi Royal family going to be punished for their complicity in mass murder from Vietnam to Syria?
