Would you still go to thailand?

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

My family will not accept her. You have no idea. My friends will always see her as an uneducated and poorly mannered former bar girl (even she isn't). That being said, we are going home for a month before the end of the year. We are not staying at my family's place, but she will get to meet them.
sounds like ur family an friends are very stuck up, (or living under the media's sound bites that all Asian women are previous or current whores). I'd question why ur family would not accept someone you truly loved into their home<<<
Too much TV, not enough mind-opening experiences. Living in the same place for too long would do it.

I won't get into too many details, but I fucked up big time over the past ten years. They just want me to have a normal, stable life at this point (college educated western wife, kids, 9-5 gig, mortgage, 401k and all that nasty stuff).
My friends are just bros.
Interesting.

I wonder if this thread gets to 10 pages.

Sorry that you feel that your lady doesn’t need you. And that you don’t really care about anyone but your immediate job and family. Maybe your family senses your unhappiness and are projecting all that on her?
Maybe if your family could see that your lady is giving you all the things they they are looking for they’ll accept her?

My parents love missus, because she completes me and I her. I had to bend over backwards to take them out of their CCTV bubble to come to wedding and they’ll never be back. Otherwise to them, she’s the duty full daughter who dotes over them (online).

I fucked up over the last 20, but who’s counting?

Wish you good luck.

I used to spend my time half in Thailand and the other working at home.
I took my Thai wife home, and what a complete f..king disaster. One it was no problem her getting a visa. Herself having a descent job and home.
But it's true what is being said. My family, that is my kid's found it hard or they were just selfish, or protective. Anyway their was no problems when I was overseas with her, but that was out of view. Not only them my close freinds and neighbour's. She prepared a dinner party for everyone to basically meet her, and she was doing this also for me to get together with everyone.
Nice I thought, and the age of my family and guest's would be 25 to 70.
It went quite well everyone enjoyed the food and drinks, Yes my Thai wife had done well for them. But wasn't that expected from her. I listened to the small conversations and the odd remarks. It of course would not be the same of a girl from my own country. Yes I soon got the impression that I had bought a "Thai bride" and this dinner party for the guests is just what she is here for. To serve to my needs for monies just like a common prostitute. She stayed for 3 months and saw real snow for the first time and the family and friends good to her.
We have Thai restaurant's and supermarkets, with that also people whom speak fluently in her own language, although no problem with eather due to her fluent English also well educated. But she definitely didn't want to mix with Thais knowingly they would look down on her, also if they had western husbands it's the case of "have you got what I have". It's just the way they are, or now, we are looked upon. Anyway she enjoyed her stay but would never return because it was not what she expected. She is Thai and enjoys her homeland and what that had to offer was far more superior to her. Plus her work of course, and also her suger farm.
At the time she was away her sister had to go alone to Cambodia to employ and collect the Khmer Labour, it's bad enough for them to come here, but alone! unthinkable to some.
The first time I was to meet Khmers was st her farm.
I was coming back from a walk after the evening meal. and had drinks with a few of them at their provided accommodation just up the road from the main house. Apparently they were paid well too. Harvesting time, they would collect and return them at the end, some workers would come year after year.
When I returned one visiting member of the family said at night I shouldn't walk down that road. I asked him why? He replied they take drugs to get the work done. "It's not safe for you".
The marage we agreed to end a few years later, she was a decent wife and person, other members of the family were putting pressure on her over money's, also my family had shown that they were displeased with the situation, even if it was mostly from remarks of outsiders. Also my work was contracted, so when each phase ended I would fly to Thailand. This could be 4 times per year. Also it was short notice when I would know of any spare time. Basicly Friday 5pm I would recive a email telling me what I was or not doing on Monday.
Trying to find out the length of time off was difficult. I eventually got someone on the inside whom could at least tell me what months were possibly available.
Anyway I was used to this now, doing the same for 30 years.
But even now I am not working I don't think I would ever take a girl to my own country.
Like some of you may do and some do not.
Another thing, here money is very important.
I was in Bangkok quite some years ago accompanied by a bar girl.
This guy whom had a beautiful girl on each arm said "you will cry". Listen too me. Forget her after tonight "you can't afford her". That guy was right, also I found out later he could afford, being a millionaire.
