The Northern Irish were also pretty clueless in the way they voted (only 55.8% remain) considering they probably had the most to lose.
Surely if they knew the hard border was even a possibility, as it was always going to be but somehow got overlooked, they would have voted remain with the same certainty like Gibraltar, or even Scotland.

The vote results were like 52% leave.
So really they should have done a re vote but they didn't.
I think most people want another vote and secretly want to stay.
Our Government does therefore not accurately represent the people's wishes.

What are the chances of another vote?
Argument against that seems to be that that would be like - "oh you didn't vote the way we wanted the first time lets try again"- as being undemocratic. But individuals can change their minds when you information comes to light, why can't a country

I reckon there will be another vote if Theresa May's deal gets voted down, with an extension of the Article 50 for at least 1 more year.bittermelon wrote: ↑Wed Jan 02, 2019 3:08 pm What are the chances of another vote?

it's more of an "it" than an "ate" at the end of both. You're looking at a 100 years of accent drift. Shakespeare used to rhyme.hanno wrote: ↑Wed Jan 02, 2019 1:43 pmEtymology 1Username Taken wrote: ↑Wed Jan 02, 2019 1:08 pmAgree with Duncan, It was always Prisoner Of Mother England when I was a kid.
And, as you are no longer a prisoner, you can be an ex-pommy bastard!
Australian from 1912.[1][2] Shortening of pomegranate, rhyming slang for immigrant (“imme-granate”), with additional reference to the fact that the harsh Australian sun could turn British immigrants' skin pomegranate red.

Re: Why dont the Poms grow balls and just leave?
Can you imagine the loss of face (if such a thing exists for poms)? Junckers et Al will be pissing their pants at what a bunch of indecisive plonkers the Brits are...
Better to stick with the original vote, stuff the EU and head out to uncharted waters, (bit like sticking your todger up a ladyboy for the first time, or so I'm reliably informed!!)

Re: Why dont the Poms grow balls and just leave?
loss of face for who?
People who changed their vote would have done so because of the new information (and they were ill informed)
Most of the government (at least the cabinet & shadow cabinet) actually wanted to stay in the first place.
The only people to lose face would be Boris, Farage & Gove, and who gives a fuck about them.
And if they vote & still leave the government can then say they have a mandate for exactly what they have either been negotiating for or a no deal.
Perhaps this time they should limit the vote to 18-65

I was taught that because your jails where dripping with Scarlet fever, Scrofula, Smallpox, Syphilis, Tuberculosis, Typhoid, Typhus, to name a few disgusting Pom traits, and the jails where overflowing with your mums, dads and others, they sent the lucky ones to Oz..cptrelentless wrote: ↑Wed Jan 02, 2019 1:44 pmOr Gold miners. Re: Why dont the Poms grow balls and just leave?
Easy solution:
England pulls out of Northern Ireland and gives Scotland independence.
Then each nation determines whether they want to be in the EU or not. Simple
