Who or what inspires you?

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

Haha I owe nothing to those who do not see....

It's funny because one thing he says is that in the other side of suffering is greatness'....but you have to be willing to walk into the suffering....no reward for you unless you suffer.

Which, come to think if it, sounds a bit Christian. I don't get hung up on those things.
Ricky Bobby made reference to not liking a reference to God. If he had kept watching he would have heard him say, God/it whatever...you (as in you in the place of the word God). Don't get hung up on stuff like that, just insert your own view ..and keep listening.

But, even if you waste more time and listen to more (that music is off putting), you still may not hear anything that resonates.
We are either ready to hear something or not.
I think you've misquoted me Violet? I am of Christian Heritage, and I Identify as Christian today, just not as defined by the institution of the church.

Anyhow, thanks for sharing. Most of the usual motivational crap is, well, crap. I didn't even want to watch, but this guy is bang on.
You have got to suffer to grow
He changed his life by shedding any victim complex and embracing change; realizing that the fire would make him stronger.

It reminds me of Dr. Jordan Peterson's Rule: "Clean up your room!" which simply means, start looking inward, and focus your energy on being your best self, and living your best life, before making a lot of noise and trying to change the world.

Personal Responsibility. We cannot change others, the only thing inside our own control is ourselves. Our behavior, our speech, our health, our weight, our physical fitness, our gestures to others, our kindness, our respect for others, our willingness to extend grace; because God only knows we need it ourselves, every day.
We run from the truth. The only way I became successful was going towards the truth, as painful and as brutal as it is; it changed me.
What is true is that us humans (all of us) are capable of so much more than we realize. I myself have made one of the biggest transformations of my life inside of this last year. How I did it is a story that would startle most people, as they would think it is impossible. But that too, is another story. Just to say, I now see that the conventions of our society and its paradigms hold us back. We rely on the 'experts' who are so often wrong. So many of us become complacent, disillusioned, and then just live a semi-numbed life; self medicating ourselves with whatever it is that gets us through another day.

I am only ***halfway through this vid but thank you again for sharing it Violet, and I am glad you are inspired by it. I hope it helps you read your own book, and to self author a new one as you too change your life and embrace change.

If I hear more insights as I progress through, I will make another post.

Apologies for the misquote. I am reasonably sure you didn't mean it this way but your comment to me about
hope it helps you read your own book, and to self author a new one as you too change your life and embrace change
implies that until now I haven't made changes or embraced them. Not true.

As for your past year, I'd like to discuss.

Mother Theresa used to starve children, Gandhi was a weirdo who slept with pubescent children and the Dali Lama was head of a CIA backed terrorist army.

Apologies for the misquote.
RB: What was that about? Who were you quoting then?
RB: I am only ***halfway through this vid but thank you again for sharing it Violet, and I am glad you are inspired by it. I hope it helps you read your own book, and to self author a new one as you too [continue to] change your life and embrace change.
I am reasonably sure you didn't mean it this way but your comment to me implies that until now I haven't made changes or embraced them. Not true.
RB: No, it doesn't (surely wasn't meant to) imply that at all. (it directly references the metaphors in the video) We are all a work in progress, and we never truly arrive; at least I haven't, have you?
As for your past year, I'd like to discuss.
Well, its fairly specific, and if I told you, I would almost certainly out myself which I am not prepared to do at this point, but thank-you for your interest.
