Just a rhetorical question. It seems to me that the only one in jeopardy would be the person who pays the barfine. Technically the bar only takes payment for the time the employee is away from the job (barfine). It seems to me, proving that there was sex for pay would depend on what the customer and barfine say. It would be in her best interest to claim no renumeration before that would make her a sex worker.

I am going to proceed under the assumption that I, as a barang, have few or any rights and should always remember that fact. Does anyone know whether the bar (employer) has any obligation to verify the legally of those they employ.

Last point, I defy any one to guess the correct age of a heavily made up bargirl. I have seen 25 year olds that look 14 and 20 year olds that look 45.

Prostitution with girls under 18 is illegal, even being in a consensual relationship with a girl aged 15-18 and providing financial support to her or her family, can be deemed as prostitution
Foreigners shouldnt play around with anyone under the age of 18.... again in Cambodian years thats any girl who claims to be 19 or under, if a girl claims to be 18, she is 9/10 still only biologically 17! and will land you in shit!

I apologize for asking a stupid question. I must be the only one here who does not pick out the oldest, ugliest girl in a bar to bar fine. It seems the concensious is that it's all on the punter and the bar has no responsibity to present legal services, nor the girl for that matter. I asked this question because I was in a bar with exceptionally young looking ladies and they all claimed to be 19 and up. I thank all who responded and I have been forewarned.

the bar is not a brothel, why would it be the bars responsibility, prostitution is illegal in Cambodia
if the girls looked exceptionally young, why would you want to barfine them?
sometimes you just have to take a step back, look at the girl, and think...
