I walked down 130 Street from the clinic to the girly bar - a journey many foreigner men have made in reverse.

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

Wetting the baby’s head is one thing, but there did seem to be some emphasis on the girly bar bit, some thought given to the what if?

Sudden realisation that life has changed? Responsibilities are very much towards another. Regrets? Time to put aside childish things and all that.

I have 2 cigars that I was going to share with a good friend, when the little fella came along. He’s 2 years old now (not the good friend), the cigars are in their wrappings. Somewhere. We’ve moved home twice, since. Company issues meant that there was very limited time to get the head wetting done, and quite frankly it was all a bit of a blur.

The cashier was an admirer and I pretended that I was single. She didn't believe me. She had just got back from a stint working in Japan and I surmised that it was a miserable time for her. I like the challenge of turning that frown upside down so I used my charisma. I was there for several Jameson's and bought her a whiskey and gave her a nice tip when settling the bill. I enjoyed the conversation and bid her farewell. Whilst walking off I thought if I wasn't married perhaps something could happen. If you haven't seen it already I'd recommend watching the Marilyn Monroe film Seven Year Itch where temptation the theme.

If you want to play with tipsy bar girls or just join the social scene then I suppose the time to go out is late and not 5PM like I had done. However I had my instructions from the missus. "Go out and relax, but don't stay out too late". I respected her wishes and returned before 8PM on both nights and even bought home dinner for those family members at the apartment.

The following morning I checked my wife and son out of the hospital clinic and paid the bill. For the next few weeks the apartment was like a busy restaurant kitchen with many helping hands and visitors. At night there was a horde of female family members sleeping on the lounge floor with the balcony doors open for cool air. I felt a little odd retiring to the marital suite alone. With the air con whirring loudly all night I wouldn't be disturbed by crying baby or the early risers in the lounge.
Flirting with tipsy bargirls and thinking what could have happened if you were not married is a bizarre mindset for someone who has just left his newborn child and wife?? Lucky for you, that your wife is so comfortable with the bar scene i guess.. as you have stated you met her when she called out to you as you walked past a hostess bar... Did she say "Hello hansum man, where you go"? :fool:

Now, you're being childish. You're not the only one, but as your a frequent offender I'm going to tell you straight.

A bar is a bar in Cambodia and yes there are girls inside.
The girls are either customers, available staff, staff on drinks commission and bar staff who are not available, staff that aren't barfinable, cashiers, cooks and cleaning staff. There are very few male bar employee's in PP.

In my story I chatted with the cashier who was well educated, honest, had open eyes due to overseas travelling and therefore more of a conversationalist than a regular bar worker. She had worked in Japan for a number of years.

Cashiers tend to be educated and trustworthy, and less likely to be 'pulled'. I know a number of cashiers. My wife's best friend - only ever 'dated' two guys. The cashier at Alice pub, the owner's sister - a very gentle young girl and probably a virgin. My wife's cousin - a younger sister of the older cousin. Straight out of high school and had alot of good qualities such as her management skills. Also never given her virginity.

I was after intelligent conversation and this girl I chattes with was a catch. I merely said IF I was single I may have shown genuine interest to her.

JB, sorry but that is precious. Nobody on CEO has time for this shit. There are posters averaging 5-10 posts a day over many years and along the way developing a cure for Covid, negotiating world peace and ending poverty in Cambodia. And at least 1/2 of this CEO stuff is shit (the other 1/2 is good). Why such a strong reaction to the OP? Don't have to read it, move on.

But it was painful to read!

No, not quite.
I’ve copied and cut the relevant bit, in case you missed it from the first paragraph, second post of your ver own thread. I’ve taken the liberty of highlighting it in case you miss it again.

It’s the fact that you’re even thinking about it (temptation) which some normal people are calling you out on, as this is not a normal reaction even though it might seem a common one. The recommendation to go and watch a film themed on this very issue might suggest you need someone to support you.

I’ve no real issue at all where you might want to wet the baby’s head, but it does seem a bit strange that you choose a girly bar, (and want others to agree). No, not all bars are the same in Cambodia. Once you’ve been here a while, you’d get a flavour for the differences, although COVID seems to be screwing many of the options up.

A little light reading for you. Help you avoid some of that tempting temptation.
Time to put aside childish things.
.

It’s got it’s roots in the bible, but has oft been quoted or paraphrased in a number contexts, not just about boy to man, but also stages of adulthood too.

Having a beer to wet the babies head doesn't require deep engaging conversation with a cashier/barmaid to the extent you are developing feelings of temptation
with her in 2 hours.. It sounds like you interrogate the poor girls before walking away thinking that they all are into you and how you would consider them if you were not married.. Suffering from temptation so easily is a red flag I bet you hide well from Mrs Pal.
How well were your stories received on TOF? I'm sorry you thought this would be a place with members void of their own opinion & you call them trolls when you don't like what the majority are saying.

You sound surprised. Anyone who has been on CEO for a while realises its a forum for frustrated aging expats with a teenage social media mentality. Anyone posting here will get all sort of dumb, antagonistic comments because thats what they do. The mindset is not mature enough to just scroll past something thats faintly annoying. Suck it up - you post, you get the trolls.Although I have to admit your posts did raise a number of interesting points regarding your morality world view.
