"Unrelated to my Faith?" Say What?

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

I think that anyone who starts a thread like this for the sole purpose of attacking Christians clearly has an issue that most readers are seeing quite clearly.

You display a clear lack of understanding yet your willingness to persecute hate and ridicule is all too obvious.

I suppose you'd be happy to take away the rights of Cambodians to make up their own minds about the issues? Do tell, what is best for them in your judgement? Will you persecute them if they disagree with you too?

You really are looking like a hate filled adolescent here.

You've got your soap box, are you actually going to say anything useful, or are you only trying to discredit those who you disagree with?
a) Reread the initial post of mine. I could tell immediately that Stroppy was being disingenuous and manipulative with that ridiculous phrase, "unrelated to my faith". He exposed himself. I didn't address only Christianity, but all "faith-based" religions.

b) Far from dictating what Khmers can decide about or not I am asking only for a "level playing field". Again, you need to reread my posts. When people like Stroppy from "Church of Christ" type of cults come to 3rd world countries they carry an inherent advantage to be used in "converting" the majority of natives (resources, education, experience, etc.). Unlike the Mormons they don't only target Khmers with incomes to tithe to the church with.

c) The central concept, repeated over and over in all my posts, is less about Christianity (admittedly I do resent their threat of damnation vs. Buddhism or Judaism which both don't embody ghastly hellish penalties for non-believers) than about missionaries from all faiths. They have no right to try to "convert" people unless...their targets have the resources and education to make a truly "informed" decision. For example, "missionaries" can go knocking on a person's door in middle/upper class areas in London, Sydney, New York, Tokyo, Rio, et al where, of course, they almost never go. Why? Because it would mostly be futile obviously. Instead they prey upon the ill-equipped poor denizens of underdeveloped countries.

Anything can be justified in a missionary's mind to "convert" a soul - especially lying. Saving souls is paramount - superseding all other concerns. Just ask any missionary yourself.

You are just being a cunt about it and ruining a very reasonable argument.
How am I being a cunt about it? I'm calling him out in a direct and unvarnished manner and it's a serious issue. It's not some kind of minor mind-game here we are talking about.

So...no one is ever going to influence a missionary's zeal to convert a whit. There are here directly from their CEO's personal orders. But I do believe that through education, information on the internet and personal stories that pressure can be put upon them to check and/or reign in some of their most egregious practices. Again, read that story of mine about the psuedo-quasi Christian preschool deception here in PP.

If other Barangs, and especially some educated Khmers, know more about their methods and "real end-game" (i.e. complete elimination of all faiths other than their own) progress has been made, no matter how incremental. They are here only to convert and that, by definition, means to negate existing belief systems. The toys and trinkets that they carry here are simply a way into the culture. Read what they profess: the experience of life here on earth has no import compared to the everlasting life in heaven with Jesus Christ. Get it? Saving souls trumps humanitarian work by a factor of what? 10,000? 1000,000? This is the truth - from their lips - again, ask them yourself.

When the arrogant missionaries pack up, leave and mind their own business. When Christians, and all other faiths for that matter, truly tolerate other religions and accept that their particular program isn't the only one.

It's really quite simple. If a religion is secure in it's own program why would they feel the need to aggressively market it to others? Jews and Buddhists aren't sending packs of missionaries out there to convert the heathen. Why is that?

Why is is that only Christians and Muslims are the most zealous in their goal toward world domination? Got some answers there, Jacob? Testosterone? Or?

If I wrote my favorite 10 points, what would that really do? I have the answer. It would make the thread go to 500+ posts. It would solve nothing. Your bickering is getting retarded. Give it a rest. You've made your point and that was obvious 100 posts ago.

Still vaguely on topic (I hope):

Dag. If you go speak to your local pals, you will find they are not too bothered about Jeesu at all, and are often very happy about the little English and computer schools their kids can go to for free.

Ask them about being outbred by the Cham, the money pouring in from the gulf and how their women have to convert to Islam when they marry a Cham, and you will find the same degree of frothing at the mouth and illogical venting of spleen that you enjoy.

Of course, you have the answer, dear Jacob. It's the ever-lasting love and guidance of Jesus Christ which everyone on earth should have the opportunity to receive. Am I right? That's it. Of course.

And what about all the other religions? The "good" Jews, Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, Animists? They be the devil's fodder - heading south to the inferno...

We both well now that it's impossible to discuss the merits of faith-based religions. Let's just agree to cease all missionary work, OK? The Islamic programs too! Then it's fair...

Very "on topic". And I agree completely. Take it a bit further and when their kid might come home and refuse to "worship false idols" and not go to the pagoda because of teacher...there might just be a problem. As long as stuff is 100% free and that the kids don't bring home any ideology all is groovy so you're speaking of a big hypothetical that we both don't know the real details about, do we?

I disapprove of all missionaries from all faiths equally. Re; the conversion requirement I also feel that to be draconian and much about even "vanilla Islam" I have many issues with.
