On The Road to South America - Which Way?

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

Find a route from Asia back to Europe via Austrslia/Nz. You can get cheap flights to South America either directly from Europe or via Miami in the USA.

Ive found a South African Airways route that looks good. I just need linking flights (return to include the onwards would suit) from Buenos Aires to Le Paz or Santa Cruz. Grateful to hear from anybody who knows such airlines or sites where I can book the whole trip.

By Michael TOG - provide the link if you're not scaremongering

Many people missed their flights because of this strange rule as they had to return and get their "chitty"..
By Michael, TOG! That doesn't sound like a very nice story! I've searched the net to try and find anything but nothing at all. I would have expected to find something since at around the time I booked my flights a UK newspaper was advertising backpacking in Ethiopia via article (arrived off the plane with loads of Brits). I expect that relations must be very good. Coincidently Tanzania (another VOA country on the road West) also appeared in the papers but I don't expect relations can be as good because the article didn't advertise backpacking.

@BS

It could have been because the Hajj was about to start and there were thousands of "pilgrims" transiting though Addis. I am not saying that they were dishonest, but trying to check out of the hotel was a nightmare due to the enormous bills that had been run up by them. The airport was in chaos and many flights were leaving almost empty. Luckily I was flying to Djibouti which very few others were.

Change of route

A family member also emailed me to warn me that flying can be dangerous. In recent years I've decided that sometimes it's better just to take things at face value without asking too many questions. We've decided to head North to Moscow (bracing for the cold). Any idea about what airlines serve the route from Addis Ababa to Moscow?

That's not fair, he's obviously feeling threatened and is reluctant to fly in what could be another suicide bomber attack.

What, you mean google knows more about air travel from addis to moscow than members of a Cambodia forum?
That is hard to believe.

If he Googles it they'll find out his location and put tracking drones on him.
