Sunday: Are we so anti-Christian we're turning pro-Islam?

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

So it seems you two are working together then. You ask him to avoid because you don't want the controversial topic pursued further. In return you bury the thread in the asinine folder so fewer people see the unanswered questions put to him.

I am clarifying more than complaining now. As stated in my previous post it is better to drop it if he cannot address the topic --- because will just make things more personal.

Personally, given your community based approach here, it might be better if you just ban religious topics totally rather than allow him a soapbox to post hateful crap unchallenged.

That seems to be the issue -- he wants a soapbox to promote his worldview but any attempt to challenge it results in a lot of personal attacks and forum disharmony.

I am actually half serious. If people here cannot handle discussions or just want unchallenged POVs you might better of waxing the topic entirely so that you might have more social cohesion.

And Od sort of asked us to look at this from his side.

He is going and the other guy is gone. He needs a frequent poster
to keep things going. Stroppy is the go to guy. Stroppy will only
do that if his self interest is met. Stroppy wants to board to be re-made
in Stroppy's own self image.

But this will chase away the most interesting posters

Balbir Singh Sodhi, a gas station owner, was killed on September 15, 2001 due to being mistaken for a Muslim. In a 2011 report to the United States Senate, the Southern Poverty Law Center reported several assaults and incidents of arson at Sikh temples after September 11. All were labeled as hate crimes that resulted from the perpetrators' misconceptions that their targets were Muslim.[12] In August 2012, a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin was the site of a shooting, leading to multiple Sikh individuals being killed.[13] On May 7, 2013 an elderly Sikh man (Piara Singh, 82) was attacked with an iron bar in Fresno, California. The crime is being treated as a possible hate crime.[14] On September 21, 2013 Dr. Prabhjot Singh, a Sikh professor was brutally attacked in Harlem by a group of 20-30 men who branded him as "Osama" and Terrorist".[15]
Bullying

A 2007 survey of Sikh students by the Sikh Coalition found that three out of four male students interviewed "had been teased or harassed on account of their religious identity."[16]

In 2014, the Sikh Coalition released a national report on the bullying of Sikh children in American schools. The report found that 55.8% of Sikh students surveyed in Indianapolis reported being bullied, while 54.5% of Sikh students surveyed in Fresno, California reported being bullied.[17] According to the surveys, Sikh students wearing turbans are twice as likely to be bullied as the average American child.
Yes, but again, places like Fresno doesn't impress me as particularly "redneck."

I think "Redneck" is a vague term that some people want to limit to Texans or Southerners in general -- but this is a fallacy -- plenty of rednecks in the north and west.

California is not a big red neck state -- but I think Fresno would be at the top of the list for Redneck hotspots in California with maybe Oakland second. It is certainly no Carmel or San Francisco.

i'm actually considering it. if you notice most of my responses in this thread, aside from those about moderation, have somewhat hinted at the concept that posters clearly can't seem to discuss it rationally. and the request from him to not further feed dagenham came a bit after i'd moved it here. and well after he'd already apologized to me for even starting the thread in the first place. he has already stated to me that he won't begin any more religious threads, though i may have to ban them outright to prevent dengetroll from attempting to bait him into one.

Thanks Joker,

Did you notice that no one said, "What would Jesus say?" I speak here
for the Jesuits, who unfortunately can not speak for themselves.
Jesus would say that Islam is the closest thing to the true religion,
and that he would be Islamic.
There is no way that Jesus would be Islamic, regardless of what any Jesuit may think.
Tell me more about why you feel that way, Joker. I will be nice about
what ever you would like to contribute.
Because it would contradict what he said, taught and how he lived. Simple really.

I respond in good faith that you will not bait. I don't want to get involved in religious punch ups that have little chance of going anywhere other that fuelling the bizarre rhetoric of a few posters over here that seem to have nothing better to do than spout their hatred.
