7 reasons why I am finished with Khmer440 for good this time

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

As recently i have posted more on Khmer 440, i found it interesting as well as there are quite educated people who don't just post shit and bitch each other. There are quite good information to look for. However, Playboy and his team would scare all newbies away.

I never got the hate for Vlad, of all the regular stirrers there, he's the least obnoxious and the most entertaining. Gavinmac is endearingly autistic. However, you're correct about the cabal, once a member joins the boys club they become beyond reproach.

The real issue at K440 is the non-contributing pricks in the boys club, like ken svay and alanclarke72, who inevitably troll decent conversations to the point they become a veritable art gallery of bitterness and causticity. Like the cat-calling drunkard who is the school friend of the publican, they are tolerated by the more reasonable regulars despite pissing all over the place and disrupting the more considered discussions with accusation and insinuation.

The best of the posters from the old days are mostly members here now.
Some of them have a wealth of contemporary and historic knowledge.
However, others seem markedly addled by the heat.
Tendency to rant in a pronounced Tourette's style.
Mostly unsuitable for membership of any club one would think.
Perhaps a dog stealing guild would admit them.

If that's the case, and I do hope it is, then why aren't they posting more of their contemporary and historical knowledge here? We need more content from such posters you describe. Reader numbers are way up the past month, judging by how many people are currently online, but the posting contibutions and new threads still come from only a tiny percentage of the readership.

Perhaps no one is asking questions worthy of their input.

I know Mr. Bingham has made it his business to know the architecture and history of the country in this last century and frequently makes contributions.

Mr Phukhet also actively contributes photographic journals of his travels in Burma.

If such valued input inevitably comes with an expected dose of annoyed condescension, then I think people quickly tune out, especially newer posters.

You formed your opinion quick considering this post was only from a short time ago!
