All this is so predictable. Now we're supposed to feel sorry for the poor hunter because he didn't realise that it was the famous "Cecil the lion" that he had killed.
If it was any other old lion then nobody would give a shit on social media. "Hunter kills lion" is not news, whereas "Who killed Cecil the lion?" has got the planet twittering and sharing what a bastard this guy is. He could have killed a thousand other lions and nobody would have said squat. Cecil was also one of the few lions wearing a tracking collar, making his death particularly easy to trace.
The irony of all this is that perhaps Cecil's death has been good for Zimbabwe conservation, and maybe the hunting situation in general. There is so much discussion on this, just because this lion was called Cecil and he was "special".

But as far as I can make out, this guy goes around the planet killing things and posting them on FB. He has even been arrested for illegal killing/poaching.
My point is that nobody gave a shit before he killed a lion with a name.
