Passport Suggestion.

I went to the Chinese consulate today to apply for a Z visa so I can work in China but they said I need a new passport as they were unable to scam mine. I guess this means If I want to work in China I will need to get a new Passport. i am curious about the ideal way to go about this. I figure I have two options. Option A would be to go to the US Embassy and tell them my passport is damaged and I need a new one. I would have to pay 110 and wait a few weeks. This will result in them taking my old passport which means I will not have a passport and my visas. I am guessing this will result in once I get my new passport I will have to go to the immigration office and try to convince them to replace my current Eb visa which is good until June.

Option B would be what I did when I was in Brazil. I told the US Embassy that I lost my passport and after i filled out the application and paid the fee in two weeks time I had my new passport and I did not need to go to immigrations to get a replacement visa for Brazil as the visa is still valid although it is on an expired Passport. Brazilian Immigration stated that as long as it is valid I simply show it with a valid passport and I am welcome to return to Brazil any time. Eu Amo Bresil. I figure that if i go with this method I will have my new passport within a few weeks. Then I can go to the Chinese embassy with both passports one that shows that I am in Cambodia legally and the other is where they can place my Z visa. Then when it is time for me to leave i would simply provide Cambodian officals with both passports as one would have the Visa which proves that I am currently in Cambodia legally. The other option would be to go to the immigration office once the z visa is present and try to get an exit visa. I am guessing this last part is probably redundant seeing that I have the original visa on the expired passport.
I am curious about what readers think would be the best option. I am very eager to go back to China. Last two times I went to China I had a Khmer Gf who had problems paying her rent and she needed me to return here to pay it. Thanks to her I lost the opportunity to earn 60000USD. This time I can return to China single and do not have to worry about having to return here. I want to work in China for a year and then I want to go work in that Winter Wonderland known as Russia for 10 years or until I can get citizenship. Then I can spend my days drinking Kvass and eating pierogies,

take copies of your passport and visa and scan them. get the new passport at the embassy. old one will be returned clipped with valid visas in there. you will need to carry both to use the visa until it runs out no need to convince anybody of anything. nothing to get all panicked about sir unless you have to go outside of Cambodia in the next 2-4 weeks

I would go to the us embassy and explain the situation. Americans are allowed to hold Two valid us passports.

Just go to the US embassy and request a new one, I have done it multiple times when i just wanted a new one cause of visas in old one,
they will give you the old one back and only take it and cance lit when u pick up ur new one, takes about 12-14 days
you dont need put old extension in new one,just use both passports.

how could ur visa be valid in a stolen passport NOT in ur possession? YOU HAD to have gone to immigration to get a new entry stamp in ur new passport or you could not have left the country

DO NOT report it stolen as then u need police reports and it opens a whole can of worms and hassles
why would anyone willingly want to go live in Russia ??

Great idea, first Lie to the us embassy about ur "stolen " passport an than show up at a foreign embassy with a stolen passport to obtain a visa and than attempt to leave the country with said passport.

It had always been a dream of mine to go to Russia. Every time anyone has ever tried to talk me out of my love for Russia it has simply strengthened my resolve. I love the Russian language, Russian food is my favorite( dairy is my favorite food group) Russian women are the most beautiful, I love Russian music, and I do not live a day where the word Russia or Vladimir Putin is not uttered at least 20 times. 90% of my brain activity has to have something to do with Russia. The only negative thing I can think of about Russia is its clime. I tend to not like cold places.

I didnt tell them it was stolen. I just told them i had lost it. I told them i went on a pubcrawl and must have dropped it somewhere because the next morning it was nowhere to be found. The truth was I was aware of the process and decided to do this as it meant I would be able to keep the passport on my person. I figure they are going to cancel it anyway once the new one has been processed and the official probably has better things to do than spend time enquiring about a lost passport.

Where you able to authenticate your documents at the Chinese Embassy in PP?

traveling with a lost/stolen passport, lying to embassy officials, being in possession of a lost/stolen passport...
even a lost passport requires a police report so, add on lying to the police

I was not traveling with a lost passport. I went to the consulate and told them I had lost it. I had a photocopy of the bio page and paid for the new passport. After I received it when i went trough Brazilian authorities i showed them both passports and they let me through. I had asked them if I returned if the visa was still good and they said sure because the Visa is what gives me permission to enter Brazil. Now I do not need visa to go to Brazil. If Heaven was on Earth it would definitely be Brazil.
