Mad, Idiot Honesty - A Very Brief History

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

I'm dumb. And I don't learn.

Look at the examples shown in history, and those around you. A conscience can cost you your livelihood. The truth will set you free, and yet people are persecuted for honesty.

I'm dumb. And I don't learn.

socialism is a political construct while capitalism is economic.
the PRC system is neither- it is pure fascist statism - the ultimate expression of the unrestrained power of capital.

Can’t be. Not possible. Only Donald Trump can be fascist. Or so the Main Stream Media preaches daily.

Are general political comments relevant to a thread on honesty?

Frank, are you not a moderator?

The OP’a posting is a link to a political justification of the way the PRC operates. Is it honestly mad? Sure.
Is it an apolitical statement of fact - like the earth is round, or gravity exists? No.

Why the heck are you attacking the moderator? He isn’t bending the board to justify your whims enough?

Why is the PCR relevant to this thread? It isn't. The PCR is not mentioned.

Here's what is mentioned:

- The world in general is mentioned (implied)
- Ancient Greece is mentioned (Socrates 400 BC)
- Dostoevsky's 'The Idiot' (1868 - Russian)
- The French Lieutenant's Woman (based on a novel by John Fowles 1969 - English)
- Slajov Zizket (Slovenian) professor at the Institute for Sociology and Philosophy at the University of Ljubljana and international director of the Birkbeck Institute for the Humanities of the University of London

There's no mention of the PCR apart from in Zizek's article. If you have read the article and are taking exception to it then please quote that section and state your objection. Then it will look like an informed comment rather than the act of paraphrasing populist headlines to brown-nose the tabloids. And if moderators participate in that, then why can't I call it out?

"Are general political comments relevant to a thread on honesty?"

One would hope so. Your erudition is in fact just "high class" trolling.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

High class? Me? Is that a joke? Look at any 'high class' person and it's obvious I'm not like that. VIPs don't like to affect their image in any way. I think you'll find that I don't mind saying all sorts of things about myself so that some people might understand the point I'm trying to make. I'm just an honest, normal person. What a reaction!
