Do we get alerts when someone negatively rates a post? Maybe none of my posts have ever been rated.

Concerning the rules enforced automatically by this phpBB forum program:

- There is no obligation to contribute; or else the program would be enforcing such rule
- A user can rate another user's posts positively or negatively as it pleases him; or else the program would be enforcing such rule

Hence, this user did not break any rule, while the outcome of his actions does not matter whatsoever. What's more, it is not desirable to change the outcome just because some people may not like it. This request therefore amounts to asking the referee to "do something" about the opposing team because they scored more goals or won the match.

yeah you will be notified when someone rates you positively or negatively, you will also know because it will effect your "Karma"

I think this thread reflects a very important flaw in the system. One single user can completely destroy an entire user's Karma. i.e. If ONE user disliked 30 of my posts, I'd be in the negative right now. I know code and add-on features are complex and expensive, but this really is a problem I don't think can be overlooked.

If there's a way to "Hide Karma" from displaying on a user's profile but keep the post rating I'm for that, but if not, I'll cast a vote that Karma should be done away with.
