The Independent has an article today about a British ex pat being assaulted by the religious police in Saudi. His crime was approaching a female only checkout in the supermarket.There is a video of the assault, perhaps one of you tech savvy youngsters could post a link, when I do it they never work, probably due to my sheer incompetence. :hattip:

One of my British buddies was pushed by the religious police before. In Riyadh, or somewhere other than Jeddah, though.

He was waiting at the ATM, and the dude pushed him pretty hard and started shouting about staring at a lady, LoL.

He didn't know what he was talking about, but then he realized that there was a female beggar in the direction he was facing, LoL.

Yikes!

Jeddah is the most modern city here in Saudi Arabia, and women often walk around without head coverings (oh la la). Kind of ironic, as it's also the closest city to Mecca.
