God is against prohibition of cannabis

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

Intelligence and The US Drug Enforcement Administraion is an oxymoron.

Legalize it, I'll smoke to that. Just talked to my mates in Alaska (Skype) and they love the new legalization there. My relatives are in Washington State and the Ganja stores are open.

They should change the federal laws and let the tens of thousands now in prisons for non-violent drug charges loose, thus saving the US tax payer hundreds of millions of dollars in enforcement and stop giving money to the corporations that supple/run the prisons. It would also help thin the herd on the attorney mob. In the US there is one attorney for every 365 citizens.

Take the money they waste on enforcement and prisons, along with the tax on Ganja/drugs and set up a rehab system to help, not just throw people in prisons to rot and learn to be real criminals.

The US Drug (thugs) Enforcement Administration should be disbanded, thus saving more tax payer money.

Wow, I did not expect to read this news today, but it seems as if a bipartisan bill is being proposed in the Senate to reform our marijuana laws. These are 5 very good steps they're making (excerpted from the article):
Under the bill, marijuana would be downgraded one level in the Drug Enforcement Agency’s five-category drug classification system. It is currently treated, along with heroin, LSD, and ecstasy, as a Schedule 1 drug—those deemed by the DEA to have “no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse.” The bill would reclassify it as a Schedule 2 drug, joining cocaine, OxyContin, Adderall and Ritalin.
The bill would also make it easier to transport some marijuana between states. While medical marijuana is allowed in 23 states and D.C., another dozen states allow the drug on a much more limited basis. Those states typically allow restricted access to medicine derived from marijuana strains with low levels of THC, the drug’s primary psychoactive component, and high levels of CBD, which is believed to have medicinal benefits. But patients often have no way of accessing such drugs, so the proposed bill would ease restrictions on inter-state transport to facilitate access to such medicine.
The bill would also make it easier for banks to provide services to the marijuana industry as they do to any other.
It would reform the National Institute on Drug Abuse in order to broaden access to cannabis for research purposes.
And it would allow doctors working for the Department of Veterans Affairs in states where medical marijuana is legal to recommend it for certain conditions.

God spoke quite specifically to the issue of cannabis real early on in the Bible, or at least as specific as God ever gets about these things:

"And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; as the green herb have I given you all things...." - Genesis 9:1-3

is god for or against
Some of the real early guys who claimed to have a direct line to God said he was against it. But when God sent his Son to Earth to spread the word, Jesus said absolutely nothing about it, as if it wasn't an issue, but did say quite a bit about loving one another. Though, granted, some of his fanboys, especially ones that never even met him like Paul, were quite against it. Or so the story goes...

The pot laws/legal battles in the US are very interesting for one thing, its States rights(laws) vs. Federal Rights(laws.) So far the feds have mostly kept out of the fight, except for the Drug Enforcement Administration who are a band of thugs and raid anyone they chose to.

Under the Supremacy Clause of the US Constitution, Article Six, Clause 2, "the Constitution is the law of the land." "All judges must follow federal law." We fought a civil war over a hundred years ago over states rights vs federal rights. The states that have legalized pot have flaunted its legalization in the face of the overly restrictive federal drug laws. So far Obama has said he will keep out of the conflict, but with the change of president and unless federal law is radically changed, this could all change at the next election.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans are/have been languishing in American jails because of Harry J. Anslinger (1892-1978), first Commissioner of the US Treasury Dept.'s Bureau of Narcotic's. He was 32 years in office until 1962. Old Harry got the laws passed against pot and other drugs and has filled up the US prisons every since. Its past time to strike down the antiquated laws this jerk got passed. If you want to see one of Harry's funny, sad attempts at a drug movie, Google "Reefer Madness."

I'm enjoying the thread from the stands, but thought I'd chime in - holy chrism is a Roman Catholic but not necessarily biblical artifact, and is a mixture of olive oil and balsam.

Chrysm as you might be referring to it is a fictional byproduct of dragons.

Licensed massage therapists in Washington can incorporate these cannabis oils into the massage if the customer brings it themselves. I've done it before and it is a great way to get high, very relaxing, but it takes about a half an hour to really absorb, so best to toke up before also. I guess Jesus was onto something.
