I will never go to Glastonbury again now that I know it full of racists and white people.
Its similar to some rap and grime clubs in London where there are no white faces to be seen

"British actor Sir Lenny Henry has questioned the lack of diversity in audiences at British festivals including Glastonbury, remarking that he is 'interested' and 'always surprised' by the apparent absence of black and Asian faces in the crowds.

The Comic Relief co-founder, who shot to fame as the first black performer on the controversial Black And White Minstrel Show, made the comments ahead of the release of his two-part documentary about Caribbean culture in Britain later this month.

Discussing diversity and places where different ethnic groups do not mix, Sir Lenny, 63, told the BBC's Clive Myrie in a Radio Times interview: 'It's interesting to watch Glastonbury and look at the audience and not see any black people there."

I guess Glastonbury is not their thing. Was he questioning the lack of diversity or is this the media creating division again?

Same with me I went in the 80s when I was younger not my scene now, it was and is for the younger generation. My comment was tongue in cheek at yet another "race" comment from a celebrity, we see them daily now and it is getting wearisome.

Not sure it is the media he said it and they reported it. Lenny Henry has form for these type of comments. I wonder if he is interested and surprised about the lack of diversity in some London clubs that feature a certain type of music ?

Did he say he questions it or did he say he finds it interesting and it surprises him. The latter does not have to have to be insinuating there is something negative happening to cause that. I suspect I won’t get my point across.

Like you, I’m a bit over these things, but I am white so have no place to comment on how a non white sees the world.

@Ghostwriter Ram Dass was the name given to Dr. Richard Alpert, Stanford Ph.d Psychology 1957. "Baba" is like a term of endearment for spiritual teachers in India is my sense of that term. Ram Dass played heavily into the Beat movement and basically everything that followed. He was a colleague of Timothy Leary's and they both embarked on lifelong journeys that were sparked by LSD experimentation and the MK Ultra days of the CIA playing with the stuff.
@tightenupvolume1 that quote about changing the world and your head seems to favor Hendrix but you could argue that the Beats, Alpert and Leary cleared the way for such thoughts.

Personally, I think that is outstanding that there are black folks in England.
