No, everywhere. I'm a big bloke and not particularly worried about taking care of myself at all but Phnom Penh has gone from a slightly colourful dump to a menacing place. I think it might have something to do with the influx of money and the gentle push to get rid of the locals who have made the place their home. Spoken to several other expats in town and they all seem to think PP has gone over the edge in the last year or so. I was genuinely surprised; I've no love for PP but it was my home and it never seemed like this before.

He was my friend for a long time and even at the height of that "top bloke" would not have been a phrase to come to my lips. Hastie, on the other hand, was well liked and seemed to have been led astray. I've heard bits and bobs about what really happened on the ground and while neither of them come out well from the whole affair - let's just say that they thought they were doing the right thing (though they'd been misled and were not doing the right thing at all but rather settling a score between two expats).

I don't think the Belgian pedophile can be blamed on Siem Reap. It's the efforts of the local community to oust him that has sent him packing.

haha but the belgian peado has a house and lived there and is where he adopted his children that he abused, had he not already been convicted of previous charges in cambodia to which he paid like 8000euros to be let off or something (i havent followed the story religiously) glad hes been caught now though, i hope they keep him here to rot in a cambodian prison!

I think SR has more expats than Snookie (though I could be wrong). PP definitely has more than both combined. I'm seeing a lot of horror show expats here in PP at the moment - far more than a couple of years back (and they were definitely not thin on the ground then).

I hope the Belgian paedophile meets a nasty end in Cambodia to be honest. He is never going to reform. He's too far gone and if he ever gets out of jail - he'll be back abusing kids again immediately. I don't support the death penalty so that's a tad hypocritical but hey ho that's people for you.
