I could imagine a site like Thaivisa being an attractive financial business given the huge amount of advertising they have, but from what I'm seeing K440 has about a dozen advertisers. So what exactly is the attraction apart from a labour of love.

I've considered that too. The possibility that he's just trolling everyone, but I suspect it's real. He's been slipping for a while now and the forum seems to have taken a toll on him.

I honestly think he finally realizes that he's alienated a lot of people with his constant childish tantrums and Napoleon complex. And not just forum posters, but actual friends and acquaintances. I also think he realizes that having other forums around on which he can't censor anything said about him makes him really nervous. He's used K440 for years to further his own agenda, name call others and at times, downright slander some individuals. Now he feels that the same could happen to him. He also probably doesn't have the will or energy to go in a "forum war". Cambodia is a small market and if competition stiffens up, the fierce searches for advertisement/staying on top might be too much trouble.

As others have mentioned, businesses are bought and sold every day. I think KIR simply figures he can get more money out of it now than he could in a few months or years with CEO around. Seeing this forum start off so quickly might have pushed him to think that the time has come to move on. He might need the money, or simply be tired of managing a forum (especially when it's impossible to please everyone). I suspect it's a combination of all the things mentioned above as I believe the forum's various ills and gangrene-like symptoms have been weighing on him and giving him stress he doesn't want anymore.

Either way, trying to sell K440 now is akin to selling MySpace after Facebook appeared, or Yahoo after Google. I jest, I jest. Time will tell. But it does feel good having threads where half the posts aren't modded or deleted whimsically. Either way, if selling ends up making him a happier man/less bitter, then I'd say it's a wise choice for the long-run. Shouldn't have trouble finding a buyer if the price is right. If I understand correctly, the "1/2" sign means he's only selling his shares and PB is keeping his?

I wonder if kir and PB have a "Shotgun Clause"? Looks like the other Mods told him to Shut the fuck up.

I believe the "1/2" means it is the first of 2 posts. It is immediately followed with "Serious offers only to [email protected] 2/2".

I am curious to know if he is only selling his shares or if the buyer gets 100%. Maybe someone should make a "serious offer" and find out
