What's curious is that our Khmer staff genuinely don't know when the more obscure public holidays are... we often have to tell them.Username Taken wrote:As if 4 days last week wasn't enough, tomorrow's a holiday (again). That's a fact!]

Re: Fact of the day
I've had 4 encounters with bears in Alaska, Two Black, two Grizzlys.(not counting encounters at my home over garbage cans.) The blacks just wanted me out of their territory, the Grizzly's wanted food and were pissed.(btw/ Blacks are smaller than Grizzlys, and Grizz's will attack and eat a black bear.) Lucky both times with grizzly's in that I had a skiff a few yards away and could row out of danger. At all times I carried large caliber rifles, but the paperwork for killing a bear out of season, you might have well killed a person. Its a real stack of paperwork and you have to bring in a pile of bear parts. You can't outrun, outclimb or out swim a bear. The bear-pepperspray works Ok, but I wouldn't use it as my only means of protection. Anyone that hikes in the Alaska bush without a large caliber rifle is just asking to be bear-poo.

Best weapon for any dangerous animal at close quarters, 20 gauge shotgun, sawn-off, both barrels.

This is seriously sick. Fact of the day: if you eat a 26lb gummy bear he will kill you.Jamie_Lambo wrote:if in doubt, bring explosives
Better shoot him.
(NB. I'm against indiscriminate use of firearms, but sometimes you have to say enough is enough.)
