Do Expats really think life in Cambodia is meaningful?

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

You might have a point Richard But are you still finding the Cambodian experience as fulfilling as it previously was now that Sihanoukville is gone and Kampot has taken over?

Has it lost its meaningful ness?

It's is indeed.

No doubt Cambodia has its nice corners if the rest of it seems to be going to ruin in one way or another.

Good to see many people finding meaning in what they do in The Kingdom. However it has come to my attention that some do NOT find anything meaningful about their stay, or in their percieved stay of others.

Those new posters are always welcome to explain how they are finding the current Cambodia. No doubt those that left Snookie to move to Kampot and the Islands, etc, will probably want to chime in about losing meaning and then rediscovering it, albeit in a novel new way.

Do they necessarily?

Is that necessarily an issue/problem? Is there a religious slant here that says you life is not fulfilled until you have meaning?

Prolly the argument has already been killed to death in this old 30 odd page bump thread but now that it's been resurrected.. pun intended :whip:

You can find meaning in a prison cell, a foxhole, a deserted island, an Australian suburb, a Mexican slum…it's not about the location.

Actually that is a very good question to propose. Is it actually important if people in Cambodia find their time here Meaningful?

Yes. I think it is VERY important. If it is not meaningful then it could negatively affect their subsequent lifestyle choices.

From hero to piss heads. These are some of the implications. Now some of you may say why should I care. Well I'm NOT here to bash, rather here to help stimulate alternative ways of seeing the pictures.

Of course people are always free to choose life's meanings. And there is no denying that whilst some expats find fulfillment in slurping coffee extracts, others find greater meaning in the activities of boozing.

True.

Yet have you found meaning in Cambodia? That is the question!

Please do not shy away from the question. I am asking you what it is that makes you wake up with hope to face another day.

Each day I wake up full of hope I'll get shitfaced enough to forget why I'm here, but it never works.

Each day ur alive is just one day closer to the day you die.

Is there meaning in Life?
who the fuck knows,
you do what makes you happy as much of the time as you can.

Enough to base a movie on?""
