Common Misconceptions Wiki Page

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

Common Misconceptions Wiki Page

Got time ? This page is brilliant. Despite the fact that I'm the skeptical type, I was surprised how many misconceptions I harbored. Here is my favorite - "Alcohol does not necessarily kill brain cells." LINK: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_co ... onceptions

Good find WJ. :thumb:
Haven't read them all yet, but very promising.

This one's for Playboy:
The redhead gene is not becoming extinct. In August 2007, many news organizations reported that redheads would become extinct, possibly as early as 2060, due to the gene for red hair being recessive. Although redheads may become more rare (for example, mixed marriages where one parent is from a group without the redhead gene will result in no redheaded children, but some redheaded grandchildren), redheads will not die out unless everyone who carries the gene dies or fails to reproduce.[279] This misconception has been around since at least 1865, and often resurfaces in American newspapers
