Is CEO Repeating The Mistakes of That Other Site
Re: Is CEO Repeating The Mistakes of That Other Site
What about people who get annoyed by your vendetta? Are they free to speak out whenever you're starting a pettiness thread?FreeSocrates! wrote:I agree. If you have called a truce between board owners, honor it. However let your forum members have a say.

I don't recall anyone on CEO telling anyone else not to post harsh criticism of those of us with petty vendettas against another website owner. Several posters here already have criticized us, many times. You are also free to slam us all you want. But please don't try to claim some sort of moral high ground in doing so. Your critical posts are not much different than FreeSocrates' critical posts, just directed at a different target.Joon wrote:What about people who get annoyed by your vendetta? There are only a few threads on CEO in which these negative views about K440 are posted. You therefore know which few threads to avoid if you don't want to read any more such posts.
Fair?

Yes, he's taken a totally new direction from supporting rich bankers and lawyers, this new venture into puns is refreshing.Alf Stewart wrote:I've also noticed that Vladimir seems to be posting lots of puns. Whoever could have envisaged this?
Have you heard that Somaly Mam's story of sex-slavery was full of cracks?
Jesus loves you...Mexico is great, right?

I'm annoyed when I see people spewing fallacious logic. That's what get to me. And while I very often think twice before posting, I'm not the kind to look the other way or pretend something doesn't exist when I'm annoyed.Soi Dog wrote:I don't recall anyone on CEO telling anyone else not to post harsh criticism of those of us with petty vendettas against another website owner. So you telling me "don't like it, don't read it" is precisely against my freedom to express my opinion.
Can you live with that?

Didn't you just suggest to FreeSocrates that he should stop posting about a personal KiR vendetta on CEO because that annoys others? That is against his freedom to express his opinion. What's the difference? I can live with you expressing your opinion. Can't you live with him doing the same?Joon wrote: I'm annoyed when I see people spewing fallacious logic. That's what get to me. If I was annoyed with posts and threads about raising chickens and ducks, and made multiple complaints about having those threads on CEO, would it be outrageous for you to tell me to stop reading the Barnyard Section since it bothered me so much?

I don't have much left to say about it but the benefit of speaking out has had the desired effect of reducing fear of bans and allowed management to reflect on its policy of openness.

I didn't suggest that he stops, I asked whether people who are annoyed by it are free to speak up as well. See the difference?Soi Dog wrote:Didn't you just suggest to FreeSocrates that he should stop posting about a personal KiR vendetta on CEO because that annoys others? Annoyed with poultry? I find that hard to believe!Soi Dog wrote:If I was annoyed with posts and threads about raising chickens and ducks, and made multiple complaints about having those threads on CEO, would it be outrageous for you to tell me to stop reading the Barnyard Section since it bothered me so much?

Here is what you wrote on another thread about this issue:Joon wrote: I didn't suggest that he stops, I asked whether people who are annoyed by it are free to speak up as well. See the difference?
Okay, "suggest" was a wrong word, but you are definitely implying that he should let the issue drop, ie. stop posting about it. Semantics.Joon wrote:Socrates, you just sound as bitter and vindictive.
KiR has been silent in the last few days. He's either busy or taking some time off from K440.
K440 managing folks made it clear they don't want a feud. And CEO management agrees with that. You should follow their lead.
Giblet, I like all poultry. Preferably roasted on a spit.
Re: Is CEO Repeating The Mistakes of That Other Site
That's what I did in that other thread. In the meantime, posters have clearly said they are not bound by what the admins on both sides agreed to. I'm not bound to shut up then.
