CEO and Khmer440 reach a GENTLEMEN'S AGREEMENT!

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

Amen.

I assumed you were including KiR in the management team, but if you were excluding KiR, then yes, I can agree with you on your assessment.

Brave men to stand up to him like that and call him out.

Kudos to those 2 gents. :hattip:

Also, AiA said nice things about The Dragon and I, so good on him too, even though I forgot to wish him a happy birthday this year.

I'm starting to feel all warm and fuzzy inside now.
Meanwhile Detroit Muscle has had his account deactivated... to which Scobie and KiR will surely say "that's not banned!"

Interesting that rather than ban people they deactivate their accounts... talk about trying to save face and hide your actions.

It sounds like Maffia-speak: 'We got that guy deactivated!'

The Andy's a cunt thread.
It's bizarre that such a pacific character can draw so much vitriol and opprobrium.

Soi Dog's definitely a cunt though.

I post back and forth with Andy a lot and we have a good laugh, I see not a hint of malice in him on that forum section and hope I get the chance to put a face to a name next time I'm over. However, I've obviously seen his negative posts re CEO on other sections though. My take on it is that nasty comments were made about him here and he chose rightly or wrongly to attack back on there, but I'm not sure which came first, he could have instigated it for all I know. I seem to remember he had regular differing political opinions with OD and some sort of big to and fro with GenMac. I think that may be part of his issue with this site. It seems to me it's a good example of sport unites and politics divides.
Yes sir, I can boogie, I can boogie, boogie, boogie all night long.

Honestly prior to his latest attacks on the site i'm putting my work into we were quite friendly... meeting up for dinner and such when he was down here in beach land.

That's why him attacking the site, rather than just remaining neutral at least (he's friends/acquaintances with KiR as well), really surprised me.

A 'Pacific' character? Unless we are considering AiA ancestors to be from the Pacific rim or islands, I am a little confused about a man with the character of an ocean. Am I being a little 'thick' here?

Opprobrium, such a beautifully descriptive word but I am wondering if this and other words recently used on this thread and forum in general, are used not because they form a natural element of the posters vocabulary but, in some way to create and air of intellectual superiority?

Obviously, in the case of Mr Linkinwater, whom know to have an excellent and finely tuned wit, I take this as, I am sure it was intended, a light hearted dig at those who seek to elevate the pedestal on which they feel they intellectually sit.

Directly on the subject of AiA, again I have met him in the real world and he is an excellent conversationalist. Maybe, on-line this does not come over, at times as well as it does in real life but Hey! that is the artificial world of the interweb. Outwardly projecting his deeply held wish to stand up in defence of his friends, this can be seen, at times as flogging the proverbial dead horse but that, in the eyes of AiA, and others, including myself, is simply what mates do.

There will come a time when there are two forums and some will trot freely between them and others will choose to use one or the other. They both have, or are developing, two distinctly different characters. This further strengthens the argument in favour of co-existence.

There are, however, dark forces at work in both forums, seeking to, for their own reasons, destabilise and to turn, the slightest of comments into nasty, personal, exchanges between members. This happened before CEO was born and continues now on both forums.

If you have time to read back, you might just see that while poster A and poster B had a big and very personal fall out, it was in fact the earlier retort by poster C that ignited and inflamed the situation. It is very subtle but I am sure you will find it, if you care to look.

What I would, respectfully ask all members to give a little thought to is are you at some time, or another being 'played' Are you being the pawn in someone else's game of social chess? If so, recognise it and just go with the flow, don't rise to their bait. If you don't react YOU win, the forums win and the only losers are the sad, scheming posters, hell bent on spoiling, what is for most a great way to spend a few hours.

A little food for thought!

I totally missed that...

Not sure if you're referring to me, but I had to look that one up.

Agree 100% with Edinwigan.

My biggest beef with 440 (in case some of you missed it) is the self-appointed one-upmanshippers, who brag about their money, intellect or contacts.

We're in a 'turd-world' country, to quote VS Naipaul, big fish in a small pond, a dose of humility would not go wanting. I'm convinced certain people sit with a thesaurus in their desperate attempt to convince us they are intelligent.

'I was perambulating along the fluvial bank' , instead of ' I was walking along the riverside', or ' I was partaking of some sustenance', instead of ' I was having a snack.' Transparently pathetic fuckwits.

and...

' I was speaking to a very-high ranking Khmer last night, I can't mention his name'

And they have a go at Khmers about appearances, LOL.
Jesus loves you...Mexico is great, right? ;)
