I think we should now debate the chicken issue, who get's preferential treatment because of their sex giblet or flying chicken. Almost forgot - hang in there gibletgiblet wrote:For what it's worth, as a female poster on many forums (with a gender neutral nick and photo) I have found that once it's clear I'm a female, I get much more attention, some creepy but mostly positive. But it cuts both ways. Long before this discussion I remember thinking that Joon had an adversarial/aggressive posting style. Then I took a step back and asked myself if I would have thought the same thing she was a man. And I think I wouldn't have--what I interpreted as aggressive because I knew she was female I probably would have seen as assertive if she was male. I think we are often unaware of how much perceived gender influences our judgement of things, even for those of us who do try and pay attention to it. I know that I felt a real change in how people treated me on the other forum once they realized I'm a chick(en).
Yes sir, I can boogie, I can boogie, boogie, boogie all night long.

Joon -- we're cool --- I just get worked up about people hurling negative labels and "buzz terms" at each other as a way of silencing or deflecting debate; hence my examples to OD. As to any "preferential" treatment you may or not have received due to your gender, my criticisms have been more about the attacks on Soi Dog for stating something that seemed to me to be obviously true.Joon wrote:Crabtree, I actually do.
Raindog, I thought that particular thread title was unsavory and I gave it as an example as Soi Dog asked for one. And that is not the only one but that's the one I remember clearly. I am not calling him/her a misogynist but I pointed to a distasteful example of failed humor at the expense of sex workers.
I'm genuinely sorry you are disappointed because I hold you in good esteem and I think that you are misconstruing my intentions as the emotions are flaring in this thread. I hope that my future posting will make you review that position.
As far as I am concerned you do not need any "knights in shining armor" to come to your rescue as you are usually quite precise with your arguments. If I actually thought you were so weak that you needed this "help" I would have said nothing.

I was going to out myself as General Mach's secret transvestite love child ---- but not sure if that would give me forum sympathy or not.

You were saying? ?Joon wrote:I did see it, and that was a while ago shortly after the "announcement" was published. I'm talking about recent posting activity.General Mackevili wrote:Ha! You must be joking now, surely.Joon wrote:
But if that was a generic "you," the K440 management agreed to leave it at both forums can co-exist and they agreed for the "feud" to be over, at least on their side. So far, they kept to their part of the agreement.
Did you not see how KiR locked the CEO thread and how he signed off? Go look.
