CEO and Khmer440 reach a GENTLEMEN'S AGREEMENT!

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

Meh. Let's not give that boring, delusional, pseudo-intellectual little child whom you quoted one more second of the attention he so desperately craves. One day he and the inner circle over there will have to come to the conclusion that all their problems are not the result of this forum, but of their own idiocy. The "shallow, drunken sexpats" comment is a hoot, though..coming from him of all people.

I actually enjoyed his Dis-Gruntled Stories of an Expat, when I first read them here 3 years ago.

But in these posts he just comes off as bitter. Why attack CEO?

And are forums only any good if they only have lengthy debates?

I don't know about you guys, but I come on forums to relax, and see what other people are up to in The Kingdom, not because I want to be apart of some debate club.

I come on here to learn new things about the Kingdom and perhaps also help and share with others, (as well as debate them, when need be). I think we are all good at helping each other, like when someone posts some stupid shit like "Where do I buy a toaster oven?" Sorry Stroppy! You get real responses and not made fun of. This is one of the strengths of CEO, IMHO.

Though I am a natural provocateur and sometimes like to argue, my measure of success of a forum is not how long and lengthy and meaningful some debate was. Or how much fun I can make of bottom feeders.

This isn't debate club, and that's why I like it. Now someone come in here and debate this!

Preferably Andy-In-English-Debating-Everyone-Forever.

...the other place where they jerk off on how smart and superior they think they are...
LoL, surely he's got that part backwards, at least. I honestly think none of us give off that impression over here.

I just checked both shoulders; no chip to be found.

I'm also happy to see them stepping up their game since the launch of CEO. If they didn't think we were doing anything right they wouldn't have felt the need to change anything in order to compete with us.

And thanks to everyone here for getting us this far in such a short amount of time, it's fucking amazing what we've all created here! Less than 2 months ago CEO didn't even exist, and now we're really starting to find our own way. When we started it, we just wanted a site with less "negativity" and to eliminate double standards. It was never an ego thing, so I'm glad Khmer440 has been trying to get their act together lately. Good to see we have so much influence on how they run things over there, LoL.

Personally, I think a new forum for Cambodia expats with a different "tone" was about a year or 2 overdue. Better late than never though!

That said, I'm only human, and have to admit I did a little victory dance when I saw KiR listing Khmer440 for sale so soon after CEO's launch. It was so out of the blue, I couldn't believe it was really happening! Shame on me.

And I had a good time introducing Dagenham and Scobie to each other for the first time a couple drunken nights ago! It reminded me I should be thankful I've lost one friend through all of this. Overall, things have gone as smooth as possible, and I thank everyone for that!

I think we are entering Tuckman's Norming phase but if I am totally honest, the Storming wasn't all that bad. There have been one or two isolated cases of nastiness but they have been met with a 'Can't be arsed with all that old forum sh*t here' and so it has never really taken hold.

I like the way the even handed approach on here has enabled those, who would normally just read, to read and post. Their input has added a new and welcome dimension. How many times, here do we read posts by people who say they only read on the old site but here they post too.

By the way, on another subject, if anyone is looking for a large open and empty space in Cambodia, for a project or something, I believe KiR has one for sale still. I had hoped K440 would rise like a phoenix from the ashes but it seems it is destined to be just a turkey thrashing about in a puddle, at the end of the day. I wonder which of the K440 High Command have taken their K440 gold and set up a new life, under an alias in a quiet corner of CEO. They can live here with their crimes unknown to their new friends, until one day, in the future a blurred image, of an old, grey man, will be posted and the CEO community will realise who has been living amongst them!

Or maybe they will rename K440 the Fletcher Memorial Home, a home for incurable tyrants and kings.

Amen to that. I think GMac does a good job of setting the tone here. I think it would be hard to run a forum and not ban someone, but at least he's open about it... I mean he banned FC, but he even gave him a phone call!

If I'm honest with myself, a part of me really wants FC back!!!

WTF!!!!

FC may not post anymore here for some time. He is facing eviction from his $50/month flat.

I am sorry to here he is facing eviction, while sometime he did have a rant or three, he also added a strange perspective to some debates.

I hope he settles somewhere soon and he gets his feathers ruffled on here in the near future
