Re: No No's Around the world
In NZ, when a Kiwi asks you what you think of their country, do NOT say that you prefer Australia.
In Australia, I'm not sure if they care what you think, since they are sure that they live in Godzone.
In either country, you must be enthusiastic about cricket or you will be treated as a bit dim, and you will be pitied for your lack of culture.

Do NOT remind the Kiwis about their crying about the drinking water when SA spanked them.
Jesus loves you...Mexico is great, right?

Cricket is for tea-drinking poofters.
We're talking rugby here.
It's a man's game, like body-building

Don't insult the King of Thailand. You could get 25 years jail.

Normally, as a foreigner, I wouldn't think of insulting the monarchy in a country I was visiting, but the Thai regime is fanatic about this, and has no sense of humour, so no jokes allowed either. LOS at it's best.

Patiwat Saraiyaem, 23, and Porntip Mankong, 26, were sentenced after admitting defamation after their arrest last August, nearly a year after The Wolf Bride, a satire set in a fictional kingdom, was performed at Bangkok’s Thammasat University.
The pair were originally sentenced to five years in prison each but the term was reduced to two years and six months due to their confessions, said a judge at Ratchada Criminal Court in Bangkok.
“The court considers their role in the play caused serious damage to the monarchy and sees no reason to suspend their sentences,” he said.

Sorry, BS correction. Nothing better than a good laugh at the expense the British royal family.

Fortunately the Brits have a sense of humour.

Supposedly, this is one of the excuses they used for not allowing me to return to Thailand.Anchor Moy wrote:Sorry, BS correction. Nothing better than a good laugh at the expense the British royal family.

Should have saved myself all the time, money and headache and move to Cambodia in the first place.
One does not simply walk into Mordor and one does not even remotely suggest the thai king might, maybe, perhaps be infallible.
