NO! it is not the matter of rest in piece (RIP) you dickheads use this acronym for so long you failed to understand what it means. Kir is well like, yea he is a dick, people hate him but it does not mean you have to resolve tot this....coincidentally enough I almost got myself kill last night too.
Kir was in a depressed period, and he even said it himself that he did wrongful things in the past and he regretted it. KiR contributed many insights about Cambodia. It is a world of different between killing someone and kick his ass.

I don't think KiR would want any of his comments removed, he seemed to love a good argument. No secret that he and I weren't friends, but I'm shocked and saddened by the news.
"Do not go gentle into that good night
Rage,Rage against the passing of the light."
Condolences to his family.

We won't be changing it, but I am going to lock it. Lets move our condolences to a new thread, as suggested, and let bygones be bygones with this. He and I (and others) didn't see eye to eye on things, and had our fair share of conflict, but those aren't his bother anymore, we'll let him rest in peace and not speak ill of the dead any further than has already been done.

Glad to see this thread unlocked. One of my comments was removed, then OD comes and says he didn't edit the thread, but that he's locking it...... weird stuff. I could have sworn it was earlier in this very thread that you were saying how CEO doesn't censor stuff and that's why you're better than k440.....

Re: An apology to Keeping_It_Riel
I posted this in the other thread... but I'll say it here as well. We do AVOID censoring. At times it's necessary... and it does have to be up to us to judge those times. And some of those times will be seen as unpopular by some, usually those being censored.
In this case the few people who have jumped my ass for trying to keep the forum more focused on a compassionate angle than on a vengeful and childish one in regards to the passing of not only a member, but a friend to several other members, has in my opinion been far outweighed by the private messages from those who were close to him thanking me for them. Especially as those being censored only have to deal with the frustration of not getting to make fun of a dead person, while those thanking me are doing so because they were spared the pain of being exposed to that in a time of grief.
The latter, in my personal opinion, is much more meaningful.

I wasn't making fun of a dead person. Someone else said that the news was a bad start to the day, and I pointed out that it depends on one's perspective. It was a simple statement of fact, not some horrible onslaught of abuse.

I don't believe you are going against the majority of PM's. You wouldn't do that.OrangeDragon wrote:

And I don't agree with a forum owner setting the tone and censoring, no matter how much he tries to position himself as the forums moral compass. I believe in free speech. Even though I have nothing to say on KiR's passing, I don't want to read Kim Jong Orange Dragons personal edit.

Re: An apology to Keeping_It_Riel
I think you misunderstood me, again...
The PMs are thanking me for the edits and working to keep the tone of that thread from spinning off into a bunch of people airing their grievances... not PMs complaining about me doing so. There are really only about 3-5 posters riding my ass about that, yourself included with your jibes.
Do you think someone posting up a bunch of random porn would be free speech as well? Or that there is a limit, but only you get to decide when that limit is fair and when its someone being a dictator?

As long as its legal, I'm all for adding a porn section, would probably be great for your traffic. You're acting like I'm the one who started this miserable non-apology of a thread.OrangeDragon wrote:Do you think someone posting up a bunch of random porn would be free speech as well? PM's wanting OD's whitewash/ censorship = many ( according to you)
BM's wanting free speech = 3
If the majority want to read an OD censored forum, then give them what they want. Don't let 3 people dictate a free speech forum if you and your PM chums want to read a heavily censored forum of locked, deleted and hidden threads. And is calling a thread " hidden" not the kind of thing we criticized 440 for doing by using a strange term for banning?
The " Groundless Speculation " thread was not only a biased title ( by you? ) , but it might as well be deleted if nobody can see it.
Or. Maybe we could ban all speculation of all deaths and murders. I'm not a great believer in preferential treatment. It should be one rule for everyone, imho.
