American's List Of Observations About England

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

At least when our corrupt officials try and take away our "Constitutional" rights we say Hell No! On the other hand the scared shitless officials have produced a military like police force all across America. With a right comes a responsibility to act in an adult manner, unlike our present government in the US, but that could change. The majority of firearms owners in America act like responsible adults, but that doesn't sell newspapers and people won't watch news programs on that. Our liberal legislators knew that creating gun free zones would attract crazies that had gotten ahold of firearms. Thus they could wring there hands and point to the killings they caused with their stupid legislation. Before answering this post, please do some reading/research.

This is true in regards to Muslim's except that their religion does not tolerate other religions and laws. BTW/ Responsible Muslims don't invade other countries with mass's of illegals. America is lucky (unless Obama-Iben-Lying has his way), the illegals invading my country are Christians and don't want to enforce 13th century laws on others. Go try and preach Christianity in Saudi Arabia and see how far you get. (beheaded?)

again your history knowledge of anything before the mighty USA came about is proving to be your downfall...
you ever learn in school about the Crusades???
http://www.history.com/topics/crusades
The first of the Crusades began in 1095, when armies of Christians from Western Europe responded to Pope Urban II’s plea to go to war against Muslim forces in the Holy Land. After the First Crusade achieved its goal with the capture of Jerusalem in 1099, the invading Christians set up several Latin Christian states, even as Muslims in the region vowed to wage holy war (jihad) to regain control over the region. Deteriorating relations between the Crusaders and their Christian allies in the Byzantine Empire culminated in the sack of Constantinople in 1204 during the Third Crusade. Near the end of the 13th century, the rising Mamluk dynasty in Egypt provided the final reckoning for the Crusaders, toppling the coastal stronghold of Acre and driving the European invaders out of Palestine and Syria in 1291.
Pope Urban ii speech stated that its not a sin to kill non Christians and non believers and if you fought in the holy land then all your past sins will be forgiven
It is estimated that 1.7 million people died in total.
And this is all at a time in which the world population was approximately 300 million — less than 5 percent its current total. Muslim extremists would have to kill 34 million people (Muslim and non-Muslim alike) to equal that death toll today. As horrific as the Islamic State’s brutal reign of terror has been, its death toll is estimated at around 20,000.

Back to OP:
After fish and chips, curry is the most popular food
I thought that curry should be n°1, but apparently (source- DM!!) the most popular dish in Britain is now chinese fried noodles : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... r-fry.html

Thanks to immigrants, Britain can boast some fantastic curries. And immigration has definitely improved the variety of food in the UK no end. Same in Oz & NZ - the diet is much more diverse than it used to be. But for sure, when you want cheap shit food to sponge up the beer, there's also plenty of that.

I went to a really bad "chinese" in a small Australian town and it was shocking. Run by immigrants but the food was designed to appeal to local tastes. In this case, the incomers were bending to local customs - lots of stuff fried in greasy batter served with a gluey sweet sauce - did not resemble anything I had seen in Asia, but people were being given what they wanted and expected. Sweet and greasy seemed to be the go. :bad: That's also more or less how I remember "chinese takeaway" in the Uk years ago.
Note that the OP did not notice hoards of muslims on the rampage in the UK either. This is a fantasy.

Jamie: I'm not saying that in the past the Christian religion was not blood thirsty and killed non-believers. What I'm saying is that for the most part the Christian religion has gotten out of the 13th century where Islam has not. In my country, church and state are suppose to be separate, but its a very difficult thing to do, but at least all religions are welcome. Go to the Islamic paradise of Saudi Arabia and try and set up a church or preach. Can you say beheading? Most civilized countries have gotten away from the 13th century laws enforced in Islamic countries today. Look at the shithole countries in the world were you wouldn't want to live and a whole bunch of them are Islamic. I'm not a Christian or a follower of Islam, but I hold a lot a values as stated in the Christian Bible. As to Islam, no way!!

For once I agree with Sailorboy, most civilised countries have come away from the barbaric practices of old.

In the countries that are still way behind however they still believe in the Death Penalty. Beheading Hanging, Firing range oh and that lIttle ol thing called Lethal injection.

Considering all the modern technology around you would have thought that they could get that right, but no they still seem to get the dosages/drugs wrong and even more F*** ups.

Also FYI Mr I’m no racist, I believe the term ‘Japo’ would be deemed racist by most educated people.

The original curries were actually created by Bengali's immigrants not Indians. Most Indians that came over were educated and became doctors or other professional people. As the Brits didn't know where or who Bengali's were they just said they were Indian.
The East End of London was the start of the obsession and it catered for the Bengali's working at the docks.

Even today the majority of curry houses are owned by Bangladeshi or Bengali families.

Japo is a term used by men who fought in WWII against the Japanese. I picked it up from my father who flew in the South Pacific in WWII. You want to talk about racists, the Japanese are about as racist as it gets. A friend of mine married a Japanese girl and the horror stories he told me about how the family treated him were terrible. BTW/ He is an America of African descent. Another friend of mine is a merchant mariner and he was on a tugboat that went to Japan. He could not go into bars because there were signs that said "No Whites Allowed." BTW/ The Muslims in Malaysia are just as bad as I was treated very badly there, They wouldn't let us stay in their hotels or eat in their Restaurants (except in Penang). The Chinese-Malaysians were just the opposite and very friendly. I have a friend in Penang today and he agrees about the Muslims being jerks Also the Indians there have treated him and his family badly and they are leaving. He was going to buy a house in Penang.
