PHNOM PENH — A 53-year-old Dutchman has been arrested in Cambodia for allegedly taking thousands of sexually explicit photos of teenage boys in exchange for a few dollars, a police official said on Wednesday (April 19).

Evrard Nicolas Sarot, 53, was a detained on Tuesday in Siem Reap province with pictures on his iPad and a digital camera of naked boys aged between 11 and 15, according to police.

“At this early stage, there are 20 boys but the victims could be more than this. This is a big case,” Duong Thavry, chief of provincial anti-human trafficking police said, adding officers found thousands of photos of naked boys in his possession.

The Dutchman, who has frequently travelled to Cambodia as a tourist since 2011, will appear before court on Thursday.

how could a handsome fellow like himself remotely be interested in sexual explicit pictures of 11 to 15 year old males, any age males for that matter?

Well, I'm going to be controversial and say at least he wasn't bumming them. He obviously likes to whack off over those photos but he's not physically abusing them. So there's a positive. Angkor Moy likes to find local equivalents, so I would give this guy a half a Jonathan King point.

If he'd been actually molesting them then they'd charge him with that, as it's the greater offence. No mention of APLE in this one, which seems unusual for these. Did an NGO get him?

Or runs a website back in Holland ( there big on sex porn websites there) and posts th photos on line for $$$$

His name for sure isn't Dutch at all.

I just find it hard to believe that he'd take so many photos but never touch.
