Sihanoukville, Cambodia: 5 foreign nationals were arrested in a big drug bust where police discovered lots of MDMA pills, machines for pressing pills along with various powders that they believe are MDMA or other drugs/narcotics. Cambodia carries strict penalties, and if convicted they could serve 20 or more years in a Cambodian prison. It is also believed that authorities are still searching for others involved and there may be more arrests yet to come.

Among those arrested:

*Mikhail Grafman, 52 year old male from Forest Hills, New York, USA
*Hannah Sirkiä, 28 year old female from Vantaa, Finland
*Lenka Vlková, 26 year old female from Czech Republic
*Mukhametianova Elmira, 30 year old female from Russia
*Melnyk Volodymyr, 28 year old from Ukraine

Sihanoukville, Police in Preah Sihanouk province raided into different places and arrested five foreigners with different nationalities who are behind drug trafficking operation in the province, according to provincial police chief Chun Narin. The first raid took place on a house located in village 2, commune 2, Sihanoukville. Police identified the three foreigners who were arrested in the first raid as

1. Melnyk Volodymyr, male, 28 years old, Ukrainian.
2. Lenya Vlkoval, female, 26 years old, Czech.
3. Sirkia Hannah, female, 28 years old, Finish.

Police said, in the first raid police confiscated a drug making machine drug in form of tablets and other powders which are believed to be used for making those drug pills. During the second raid, police arrested an American man, Grafman Mikhail, male, 53 years old and a Russian woman Mukhametianova Elmira, 31 years old. Police confiscated a scale, two phones, a computer, a driving license, 20 discs and some documents and other pills and powders for making drug pills.

Anti-drug police confirmed that the drug pills are MDMA.

Wow long time not seen something like this, Nigerians excepted. Probably dates back to the Prey Sor sweddish blogger "cookie", and SHV Joe Happy Hippie, and neither were producers.
I think this bunch is properly and utterly fucked, I forsee 25+ years sentences.
Someone should have told them that the jail is currently overpopulated (from 350 to 600+ prisoners from 2012 to 2016 with foreigners numbers more than doubled to 20 or 30). That of course leads to nasty living conditions like an ongoing scabies epidemic... But then it will shortly move to way out of town near the stadium. Probably larger, I think it was built as part of a land swap and apparently short founded. The location in itself will make everything more complicated and expensive for the inmates.
Lastly if I can't recall ever seeing any of the foreigners, the khmer girl is a VH skank called Danita. She is regularly banned from night bars for making problems and being violent, she will fit in just right...

so not a 'merry christmas' for those waiting to buy then....

Having seen an MDMA synthesis in person (about 20 years ago, you don't need to call the cops) ... No. They were not manufacturing MDMA.

They were maybe pressing MDMA or another drug into tablets, as evidenced by the digital scales and pill press and pill clays they appear to have.

But they don't have laboratory glassware of any sort in these pictures. It's not an easy drug to make. It's quite involved and complicated compared to something like methamphetamines.

So ... No. These are not chemists. They were most likely just importing the drugs from elsewhere in a crystalline/powder form and making them more marketable or easier to sell by pressing them into tablets.

Man, this is a big bust and it looks like they (not sure who was involved in actual production) were producing a lot. They'll be gone for a while. What's the minimum, five years?
