2 Foreign Backpackers Lose iPhone on Virak-Buntham Bus from Phnom Penh to Poipet
A foreign couple were crying in front of Virak-Buntham bus company when they reached their destination on April 2, 2016 at 11: 30am. Their iPhone was stolen from them on the bus ride.
According to Nokor Dragon News, journalist starting taking pictures and videos of them crying, then suddenly there was a bus representative who came out to stop the journalist from taking photos/videos and promised to solve the problem as soon as possible, and took pics of the journalists.
The two English speaking foreigners said that they took the Virak-Buntham bus from Phnom Penh to Poipet and when they got out from the bus, they realized that they lost an iPhone.
After that, they told the border police about the case, but they didn't want to get involved.
The foreigners complained that they have spent a lot of money to come to visit Cambodia, but are disappointed that there is no safety and police won't help tourists.
After the event, the two foreigners walked away crying.
One police officer finally got involved, but there was nothing he could do, so he let the bus continue and didn't blame Virak-Buntham Bus company for their loss.
There is also a video of the foreign backpackers talking about the event, and it appears the female says she left the iPhone sitting on top of her bag:

Really? You come to a 3rd world nation and expect the police to bust a gut over a phone which costs more than their annual wages? Congratulations on your naivety. Hope you paid for travel insurance...

And it sounds like it was sitting out, on top of her purse.

After a lot of flapping and crying she got her other iphone out.
Plus side - he still has his laptop.
Be good, or be good at it.

People should take care of their possessions, especially if they're expensive
Doesn't say where they actually lost it though ?, was it inside the bus ?
Nobodys stupid enough to put valuables in their checked luggage beneath the bus, completely out of sight surely ?

actually lock it up inside the lugguage in the bus compartment below is the safest, coz nobody can access to it during the bus journey, but hv to make sure that other passengers dont take the wrong lugguage as some passenger might get off in the middle of the journey.jaynewcastle wrote:People should take care of their possessions, especially if they're expensive
