here's an interesting story from Pattaya last Sunday and everyone was talking about it yesterday. But now it has the added interest in that two suspects have allegedly escaped to Cambodia.

I have posted the Thai Visa thread because it contains photographs of the two so you might want to keep an eye out for of these people in case they are living next door to you!
A Briton and a South African who were suspected to be involved in the killing of a British web designer in Pattaya on Tuesday January 24 have escaped into Cambodia on the same day, police said on Wednesday.
The two suspects were identified as Miles Dicken Turner, a 27-year old British national and 23-year old South African named Abel Caldeira Bonito.

The victim, Tony Kenway, was shot dead behind the steering wheel of his Porsche in Pattaya with a single bullet on his head by a lone gunman who escaped in a waiting motorcycle after the incident.

Two men suspected of shooting a British man in Pattaya on Monday 23 January are reported to have crossed into Cambodia shortly after the shooting. The suspects have been named as British national, Miles Dickens Turner, and British-South African, Abel Bonito Caldeira. The victim,Tony Kenway, was allegedly running an online gambling site, and it is believed that he may have come into conflict with a rival foreigner group.

A conflict in connection with illegal activities is believed to be the motive behind Monday's killing of a British man shot while sitting in his car in Pattaya.

Tony Kenway, 39, was shot dead while sitting in the driver's seat of his red Porsche Cayenne GTS in a car park in front of Sanit Sports Club Co in tambon Pong, Bang Lamung district of Chon Buri.

Eyewitnesses told police the killer was a chubby man, wearing a white T-shirt and a black jacket, sports shoes and a cap that partly hid his face. He had been seen standing under an awning in front of the fitness shop.

Thai language Kom Chad Luek newspaper reported they were seeking two foreigners including the suspected hit man who killed Kenway. The newspaper said they were a British man known as Miles Dickens Turner, and a South African-British subject whose name they reported as Abel Caldeira Bonito.

Both men had reportedly left Pattaya for Cambodia via Trat shortly after the murder, the paper quoted police as saying.

Kenway had walked from the shop to the car and sat in the driver's seat. The gunman went over to the car, yanked open the door and fired a single shot to the head. He then ran to a waiting motorcycle, which quickly sped away.

The 'chubby' killer (left) walked up behind Kenway as he got into his Porsche, then wrenched open the door and killed him with a single shot to the head.

A source with the police investigation team said investigators discovered Kenway allegedly ran an online football gambling website and had a conflict with a group of influential foreigners concerning illegal activities in the area...

this is interesting additional info from the Thai Visa thread
The South African's mother and sister's FaceBook has them living in Phnom Penh presumably with his father. He is friends with another lady, maybe another sister, with the same surnames living in Sihanoukville. I read elsewhere that Kenway wanted to open a business in Phnom Penh.

Kenway was known to police and immigration officials as in 2015 he had been arrested and charged with working without a valid work permit and employing aliens. He was on bail and awaiting trial for these offenses.

Additionally journalists have now discovered that Kenway had an interest in a ‘call-center operation,’ otherwise known as ‘boiler rooms,’ that were established to encourage foreigners to invest money locally in business and property.

yes a bit embarrassing to some now considering the police have revealed the following

" Police said Wednesday that Mr Kenway, who has been in Thailand about seven years, was arrested at the end of 2015 on a charge of working without a permit and hiring illegal workers. This case has yet to be resolved and was due for a next hearing on February 23rd of this year."

A police source, who released the passport photos, said both suspects arrived in Thailand together on Wednesday afternoon after crossing in from Cambodia at the southern Cham Yeam border checkpoint.

They added: "They've both left Thailand but we're working with police in Cambodia to find them. They are the main suspects."

Police trace the motorbike used to flee the scene back to a local bike rental company who had copies of the suspects' passports on file.
They searched the accommodation where they had been staying but the men had already left.

The officer said that immigration records showed the suspects had left Thailand at 3pm on Wednesday.

Court issues arrest warrants against Briton, South African over murder of British businessman

PATTAYA: -- The Pattaya Court Thursday issued arrest warrants against a Briton and a South African man accusing of murdering a British businessman in Pattaya on Tuesday.

Chon Buri police chief Pol Maj Gen Somprasong Yenthuam said the court approved the warrants against Miles Dicken Turner, who holds a British passport, and Abel Caldeira Bonito, who holds a South African passport.

They were charged with collaborating in killing Tony Kenway, 39, and with having gun and ammunition in control without license as well as carrying firearms in public place.

Somprasong said immigration record showed that the two had fled to Cambodia via an immigration checkpoint in Trat at 3 pm on Tuesday, not long after killing Kenway.
