Any bilingual Cambodian speakers here

who are willing to help me out with one or two idioms? My Khmer wife has been of great assistance to me but for this couple of expressions I need help from a native speaker of Cambodian and
1) English (first choice)
2) French
3) German
Please remember that I am illiterate in Cambodian so you'll have to sort out my system of phonetics. Again bilingual only please. The gig doesn't pay squat, but heavenly karma points will come your way. Either post here or pm me please.

I've got a whole book of Khmer idioms in Khmer and English at home. Maybe the ones you want are already in the book.

Thanks UT, but I have reason to believe a book won't do it. The nature of one idiom in 3 may change according to the situation. I know there must be 1-2 bilinguals on this forum. Neither Samouth nor LS can handle the English complexities. Fade out to "I did it my way."

Sorry taabarang, I can't help... too busy with son, extended family, business, job, wife, gym and personal study (in that order it seems)... Wouldn't be much use to you anyway, my area of interest is written Khmer, which as I'm sure you know is quite different from spoken Khmer.
Currently I'm focusing on politics and economics, also short modern literature.
Just got a copy of Kem Ley's fables which I'll read next after my current book about the economy is finished.
I really need to work more on my speaking, I'll often finish reading an article, look up and want to discuss it, but be at a loss for words (literally and figuratively).

Rama, thanks for the consideration anyway. As a married man with two teenage kids I can appreciate your concerns. I learned speaking merely to get along with the villagers. Frankly I've nothing against formal Khmer, but it isn't spoken in my village. I wish you the best of luck in your studies and your life.
