Who has the date stones the General brought from Arabia?

Can we rendezvous at - say - FCC at the weekend?

He who craves to own the seeds will gladly provide refreshment to s/he who is the
current custodian of the seeds

Can this be managed?

Farmers have date with destiny

A farmer harvests dates from a date palm tree in 2013. Said Khatib/AFP

Hor Kimsay, The Phnom Penh Post
Tue, 25 October 2016

A Thai agricultural company will work with a local firm to introduce commercial date palm cultivation to the Kingdom, which it claims can generate more profits for farmers than pepper and other cash crops, and for which it has already lined up buyers.

Chiang Mai-based Daily Green Co Ltd inked a memorandum of understanding with Cambodia’s Kheng Lay Co Ltd yesterday that outlines a partnership plan to educate Cambodian farmers on the commercial benefits of date palm cultivation, and supply seeds, saplings and technical support to farmers who choose to grow the cash crop.

Kheng Chantha, owner of Kheng Lay, said he has successfully grown date palms on a 10-hectare experimental farm in Kandal province, and the fruit-bearing variety of palm grows well in Cambodia and could provide a supplementary source of income for rural families.

He said the partnership agreement will see Daily Green responsible for supplying seeds and saplings to Kheng Lay, which will distribute them to local farmers and support their date production with technical advice and help in securing supplier contracts. The two companies will look to enlist local farmers to grow date palms on 50,000 hectares in the coming five years.

LoL.

Actually, the date seeds are with me, in the damn desert again. I kid you not.

I even sent him a PM with my number, asking how he wanted to get them, but apparently he can't read/access PMs?!?!

I lugged them all the way across the globe, and back.

Finally unpacked in the desert again, and there they were again.

I even had a showdown with customs/security in Thailand, not over the dates though...

Bought a bottle of cologne in Doha, and it happened to be 125ml, which is over the 100ml limit.

This part of the trip was from Bangkok to Phnom Penh on a $50 Air Asia ticket, and they went through my bags and said I had to throw away my cologne. I flat out refused to throw it away.

I even explained that it cost more than my flight and I'd exit and get another ticket (And put it in my checked luggage), but they said I couldn't "exit" the airport, as I'd already cleared customs.

I still flat out refused to do it.

They finally got a manager who said I couldn't exit, but he'd let me spray it into a water bottle (which was 500ml, so explain this one to me).

I agreed to that and spent about 20 minutes there spraying this cologne into a water bottle, LoL.

Finished, and was allowed to proceed.

To be fair, I knew about that limit, just never had trouble with it before, including in and out through US customs.

Live and learn.

MEA CULPA about the date stones ... sadly, the instruction to pm the General was misread or overlooked.

And when will the General be back in Cambodia? Sometime in the New Year?

Haha, no worries! They don't take up much space at all.

I have no definite future travel plans lined up at all, and don't even have a holiday schedule here yet, so it's anyone's guess when I'll be on the move.

[I just mentioned on another topic that I'd be glad to try and ship them.]
