Do moon buggies count as Cars for insurance purposes?

Do those little moon buggies count as cars for insurance purposes if anyone has experience.
Obviously no bike license back home is too risky in case of accidents.
Also how much roughly are they to buy?

I don't have any first hand experience with them in Cambodia, I'd call them sand rails where I'm from.
I'd assume you could get insurance to cover the other person, probably not full coverage. But who knows, this is Cambodia, where anything goes.
Average I think is $3k-$4k. Of course it might be less.
You can license them back home in the usa, at least you can in Florida. The problem is what car to classify it as. I think mine was still called a Volkswagen but it was "custom". Since the engine was from an old bug. Making them street legal was a pain in the ass and took away the fun of driving it haha.

i'm not sure, but maybe a microlight is? they drive well on the road and can also fly
. it reminds me about wanting to top yourself. if Zmth is still thinking about it - it's a novel enough way to commit suicide. and a fun way too. Get shot down by the military or just succumb to the air currents...

Mate, you will get 100 guesses here from the uninformed, and maybe even from the slightly informed. But the only way to be 100% sure in your particular circumstances, is to contact an insurance company with ALL the details of both the vehicle and of you.For example - what sort of use you intend it for, off road, on road, both? Age and roadworthiness of the vehicle. Do you have (a) valid licence/s for its use on or off road? Do you have prior convictions under the road traffic laws in any country etc, etc, etc.... If you haven't dotted EVERY i and crossed EVERY t under the policy, you might as well forget about insurance completely, you will just be throwing your money away.
You can pick up the smaller ones 2nd hand for around the 2 grand mark.
BTW, had a mate a few years ago that got one and it spent more time in the shop then on the road.Although he did tend to drive it hard. Into hamburger carts and things!

I have insurance on my 4 wheel vehicles. Never asked anything concerning citations for anything from anywhere. The vehicle does not even need to be yours to insure. However mine are 100% legit. Yes a Cambodian DL is required. Have even made a claim. They paid but reluctantly.
I had the policy fully translated to English & signed & stamped by company rep.
