Small. Cheap cars

I'll be moving to Phnom Penh soon, but I'm not sure if it's a short or long term move. I need a cheap car ($2000-3000) to get around town as I'll be staying on the outskirts of the city.
Can anyone compare the Kia Visto and Hyundai Atoz circa late 90s. Is one more reliable than the other? How easy are they to get repaired? Or would I be better off with an older Corolla? Other suggestions welcome. BTW, moto is not an option. Thanks

I've seen a 2002 Matiz for that price. Those little Korean runabouts are generally pretty reliable, no fun to drive with an auto box

^ I'd drive one of those lol my wife wouldn't.

She once saw the Smart Car and thought that would be a cheap car. Nope, the Smart Cars go for $20k even though a newer model back home is ~$5k. Although trying to have an electric car here.... Probably would pay more for electrical power then regular gas.

If I wanted responses like that, I'd have gone to K440.
