I did mine myself . A 50 m roll ,, one metre wide of that silver stuff with bubble wrap in-between cost [ from memory ] $140. Held up against the roof iron with lengths of half inch PVC water pipe as it is best not to glue it. Best to use two layers.

"What's the Cambodian word for insulation?"

This is going to be a bit shaky. I asked my wife and she didn't know, I know of no insulated houses in our village since they depend on high ceilings and ventilation. However she said the dictionary says. rum kapia kondau tngnai. Find a Cambodian to make sense of this. Literally

rum(the stuff that insulates) protects (from) the heat of the sun. I hopes you luck.

Oh yes "rum" sounds more like room, not rum the drink.

Snao is the word often used. Do you own or are you renting and looking for something less permanent?

"Snao is the word often used.". Yes that is a kind of insulation, polystyrene as mentioned above. In our village it is not used as insulation but burned and melted to repair zinc roofing. Works damned well too in plugging up leaky holes.

You got it. There is no burning involved. An error on my part.
