The 5th Asian Beach Games for 2016 are being held in Danang, Vietnam; they started 24 September and are winding up on October 3rd.

@UT: Cambodia was in 6th (out've 34) place for the medals (so far.)
5 Gold, 1 Silver and 7 Bronze.

The only video I could find was a promotion commercial for 0:30. As far as I could find, the games site has no videos of any events, which are all finished tomorrow. No wonder no one has heard of these games.

Vietnamese Muaythai fighter beats Chinese rival to win gold at ABG5
On 29th September 2016, Tran Nguyen Duy Nhat, a Vietnamese Muaythai fighter, triumphed over his Chinese rival Wang Wenfeng in the men’s 60kg category to win a gold medal at the 5th Asian Beach Games (ABG5) in Da Nang.
Wang, a strong fighter from China, was unable to shock the Vietnamese boxer.
Nhat, who has been a world champion in his division six times in a row, defeated his rival 30 to 27, VTC News reported on Monday.

What? You didn't hear that Vietnam won the Gold in the Fish-carrying competition ?
After experience the night through honoring the traditional value activities, on 01 st October, 2016 in the morning at the same beach area, the “Beach Festival” will take place with the competition of Farming Associations in Da Nang City: Netting, Carrying Fish, Basket Boat Racing, Tug of War…promising to bring a vibrant, festivous and memorable experience to all local people and international tourists.

Thanks to CEONews this will be a big event next year. JL will be running the Asian Beach Games Beach Babe thread. CEO will be sponsoring the Cambodian "drinking beer on the beach" candidate - there are a number of potential candidates already in training on Occheuteal Beach as we speak. We'd never heard of this either, but it's going to be the NEXT BIG THING for sport in SEA. You heard it here.
