Does anyone here have opinions about Brexit?

There's an angry tone among Gruaniad and Indy readers:

"They, the old and poor and thick, have messed things up for us, the young, upwardly-mobile and smart"

the euros are hurt by the jilting, and will punish uk with trade.
the poms will get pissed off, erect trade barriers to stimulate home production in agriculture, then they will pivot trade to china and the former colonies a la pink imperial map.
when trump is elected, he will build a trade wall, and the current financial era will draw to a close in severe protracted depression culminating in world war 3.
i imagine any other outcome is very unlikely from my reading of contemporary history.

Don't read The Spectator so often but their piece seems to be on the money as far as who voted what goes but I think the following is even more spot on:

Not a big fan of Nick Cohen per se but it nails the motivations of Britain's political class and those two dolts in particular.

There were plenty of people of my age group that voted leave, it wasn't just old people. Nothing's going to happen until after the French and German elections next year. Maybe not even then, depends on whether parliament ratifies this decision and depends on whether the EU behave like dicks. They really can't afford to lose the UK, as they are net importers of UK goods, and despite their posturing they actually need the lolly. So let's just see, no article 50 just yet.

I have lived in Ebbw Vale all my life. Voted remain. All my friends and family voted out. I did all I could to convince them (pointing to all the EU investment here) and still they wanted out, it was just sheer stubbornness not to listen and to completely dismiss the arguments from the other side.

I am just utterly ashamed of my town and the people here and how paranoid, mean and thick they have become. We seem to have gone from being liberal and tolerant to thick and nasty right wingers in about five years.
There is no thinking or civilised debate, just angry people shouting their half baked opinions at each other.
Europe should demand we give them all the stuff back.

The Brit PM is leaving because this? Why hasn't our American President thought of that one? Problem is the vice-Pres is just as bad.
