Open small and cheap bar

Did you not take over an established business?Simon@Garage wrote:Great advice, frank lee bent wrote:photo of Olive and Olive is accurate.
had one there with Jamie not so long ago.
it is an awesome deal for the money.
i really like that place.
OP I regret being so negative.
if you can do something exceptional the world may well flock to you.
even something as simple as burgers still has potential.
Cambodia is a fairly low cost environment for taking a gamble.
but honestly, keep it super small and cheap whatever you do.
I've had my place for a year but had enough to keep it afloat while I was building up trade. Keeping it simple and sticking to what you do well also helps.
The main thing I've learnt is that you have to be in the place regularly to attract solid support, build a rapport, keep an eye on the service and there you go!
Best of luck to the OP
That would be considerably different from beginning from scratch.

Yes I did to be fair. Although it was in trouble at the time as the then owner lived in Siem Reap and couldn't devote himself to the place.

You're spot on there. It was a turnkey operation so the staff, stock and fittings were all in place. I wouldn't want to open a bar from scratch myself.Simon@Garage wrote:Digg3r wrote:Did you not take over an established business?Simon@Garage wrote:Great advice, frank lee bent wrote:photo of Olive and Olive is accurate.
