Anyone seen Aiden Webb - missing in Vietnam ? Family FB search..
Another "missing person" on FB. He has not been off the charts so very long, but the family has put out an alert. They are worried enough to be flying out to Vietnam. I hope this is just the usual false alarm. How did we manage to travel before FB monitored our every move ?

it would be good if they updated this if he was found for example.

I'm sad to announce that my nephew Aiden Webb has gone missing in Vietnam....He was last seen 3 days ago at Fansipan Mountain, Hoang Lien National Park, near Sapa, Northwest Vietnam. Please could everyone share this picture as he have lots of friends who travel in this area.. the quicker we get his out, the quicker he can be found.. As a family we are trying hard to locate him, his dad [my brother Trever] and my other brother [Michael] are flying out to Vietnam tonight at 6pm to help in the search... this is very upsetting for our family.. but with the help from social media we can we band together and search for Aiden. Aiden has contacts with some people that he met while on his travels if they could keep an eye out for him that would be very helpful...... Alison Ellis

Missing for days and they're flying out to Vietnam?
It doesn't sound like they have any reason to suspect something bad, only that they haven't heard from him.
They should just buy their son a leash.

He went up Fan Si Pan and fell. He did manage to call but his phone has since run out of juice. Many people have underestimated that mountain.....

He's a smart lad. He fell for a mountain and didn't fall for a girl.hanno wrote:He went up Fan Si Pan and fell. He did manage to call but his phone has since run out of juice. Many people have underestimated that mountain.....

Injured British climber Aiden Webb missing on Vietnamese mountain after phone goes dead
FEARS are growing for a British man who went missing five days ago while climbing and trekking in the jungle on Vietnam’s highest mountain.
Aiden Webb, 22, was last heard from by his girlfriend Bluebell Baughan on Saturday morning, after he fell in a ravine while climbing alone and injured his arm and leg.
Webb, from Norwich, began ascending the 3,100m (10,300) high mountain at about 6am on Friday. He stayed in contact with Baughan until his phone went dead. Both he and Baughan agreed they should phone a rescue team to help bring him back to a nearby town in the northern district of Sa Pa.
Baughan, as well as Aiden’s family, are appealing to travelers in the area to help with the search. She has also asked for anyone with access to a drone with a camera to help them search a steep-sided valley that is difficult to access on foot.
A Facebook page titled ‘Help us find Aiden in Vietnam‘ has been set up by his family, who wrote: “He has hurt his knee, torn open his arm and lost his flashlight after falling by a waterfall. He went missing on the Xin Chai/Sin Chai route and we need to find him ASAP!!!
“ANY backpackers in the area, any experienced climbers or locals that are willing to save a life, I will reward you for your efforts and for finding him!! We NEED people who are strong!”
The Xin Chai route Webb took is considered one of Fansipan mountain’s hardest and wildest routes, and is only recommended for “challenge takers”.
Sa Pa authorities have deployed 60 people to search for Webb, reports local newspaper VN Express. The district announced a US$2,200 (£1,513) reward for anyone who finds him.
Webb’s father and uncle, Trever and Michael Webb, flew to northern Vietnam on Tuesday to meet rescue officials and aid in the search.
The 22-year-old is very physically fit and an experienced climber, having spent the last two and a half months trekking and climbing throughout Thailand, Laos and Vietnam.

News breaking on VN media say his body has been found and that he has been dead for 2-3 days though authorities have not confirmed that yet.
