All Sihanoukville Beaches to get Public Access.

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

they should have designate some beaches for private commercialisation and some for public access.

There are red arrows at the businesses on Indy beach indicating they must move 8M inland. There is vacant land that makes that possible. Haven't seen any at Hawaii Beach. Yet!
Haven't seen at Rich Resort or Queenco either. Doubt I will. Haha!

Beaches to be reclassified into fully public, half-public and "luxury resort" (means no riff-raff public I think). Which is pretty how things are at the moment, aren't they ? Carry on. :stir:
Land Management Minister Chea Sophara and Tourism Minister Thong Khon met yesterday to discuss the development of beaches surrounding Sihanoukville.

Speaking to reporters following the meeting, the deputy secretary of the National Committee for Cambodian Bay Management and Development, Ny Phally, said it was decided that beaches will be reclassified under three designations: state-managed public beaches, state-managed public beaches with private-sector participation and state-run luxury resort beaches.

Phally said plans were also discussed to update regulations governing entertainment provided by beachfront businesses, as well as guidelines for the monitoring of the beaches’ upkeep...
