Once absolute monarchy is restored, Siam will be very safe.

when pigs fly
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
Re: Is it Safe to Visit Thailand ?
Several recent events indicate that it's already happening. It can be estimated that the process will likely be completed toward the end of the year after the Royal Cremation in October. It is doubtful that it will formalized but will be the de facto situation with the new constitution.
Have you heard anything about elections being scheduled?

Re: Is it Safe to Visit Thailand ?
our illustrious general has already said ealry 2018 for elections. But i'd be willing to bet they dont happen.. Thai's are not ready for democracy ( if there was a election in the next year the red shirts ( with a relative of Thaksin's running) would surely win and the whole dog and pony show would start oversigmoid wrote: ↑Wed Apr 19, 2017 6:44 pm Several recent events indicate that it's already happening. Re: Is it Safe to Visit Thailand ?
The idea of absolute monarchy being restored is absolutely ludicrous.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

back to the OP's header/topic, fucking dangerous place this is. Absolutely inhospitable, and has been for decades as previous vistors (of those who returned alive) reported. Kevlar denim is almost a must while out for your daily chores, so are small arms, handgranades etc. for your everyday self defense. To stay unharmed, best is not to leave home at all, and even there your personal bunker beneath your established place of abode is probably your best bet. Where are these fucking 'stearing the pot' icons when you need them?

Thai royal agencies brought under control of new king
Thailand's parliament has agreed in a confidential session to transfer control of royal agencies from the government to the new King.

"The transferring of these agencies to be under the monarch's direct supervision is another sign of an increasingly absolutist monarch, following the pattern of the new constitution, which similarly was amended to legally enshrine more royal assertiveness," said Paul Chambers, a lecturer at Naresuan University.
